whatched cl final last night thought barca were going to blow it and we would have to play a qualifying round . eto and ronaldinio were trying to take on five players and score .then henrik came on and showed them what a team player can do .he opened arsenal up twice in 15 min when all the barca superstars could not manage it in 70

With the sole exception of his disgusting 'leave the boot in' tackle on Gus MacPherson, he was without doubt the most likeable sensation in my experience of Scottish football. I fucking love Henrik Larsson, and what a wonderful way to begin his greatest ever summer - fun Ashley Cole like that again, and they'd better sack Jokey Boy and hold a new Holyrood popularity contest

As much as i hated how well he always seemed to play against us, i have a lot of respect for Henrik Larsson. He is the only world class outfield player to have played in Scotland in the last 20 years (Goram being the only world class goalie). He was a fantastic pro who gives his all for the team he is representing, something I wish a few of our current squad would do. He is a contender for the best goalscorer i have seen as well (in Scotland), although i think McCoist just pips him to that (although undoubtably Larsson is a far superior player overall).
And lastly..... thanks Henrik for taking the smug look of those cockneys faces.

What about Laudrup? I thought he was incredible the times I saw him play.

Sorry Crippler - I'd disagree with you.
Larsson was a class player - yes I'll gove you that.
But,imo, Laudrup was a better player - worthy of being called "world-class"

Henrik Larsson and Brian Laudrup are the two best players I've seen in the flesh.
Of course, Larsson never scored against us

A fitting way to end his career at the highest level (no disrespect to Helsingborgs) for him to help Barca win the Champions League.

He's probably the best player I've seen play in Scotland, and now a Barca legend.
He'll be delighted to finally win a decent medal

You have to admire Henrik Larsson for finishing his career with the club who signed him as a boy. Giving something back to the game in his homeland instead of buggering off to Japan for one last payday.
Well done Henrik!

We played Celtic in a Scottish Cup semi-final in 2002.
For about the whole of the first half i thought: "I knew it, this Larssons massively over-rated"
Shortly after he just went up 3 gears and burst onto a ball to the back post and it was 1-0. His movement was frightening.
Still, i think its ironic that the OF club thinks he did it for them because he loves them so much....

Obviously he never done it for Celtic but I'm sure he wasn't unhappy at the outcome.
I remember when he first came to Scotland he used to wear a headband with a relatively unknown sponsor on it when he could have made a fortune with another deal.
Total model professional footballer - not many of them around these days.

As someone else pointed out, Laudrup was also world class.
But what about Richard Gough? He could have walked into any side in Europe and was still playing Premiership football at the age of 40. He was outstanding at international level.
Frank Sauzee is another one that springs to mind, although by the time he arrived at Easter Road he was at the tail-end of his career.

Laudrup was great for us, no doubt about it, but he never did it anywhere else to a high enough standard to be called world class imo. He is without doubt the most skilled outfield player we have had in the last 15 years or so though. Also Laudrup just didn't do it enough in European games for us as well, too often he was nowhere to be found in Champions League games (same goes for Gazza).

Clearly that's because you had Wally "mastermind" Smith playing long balls up to Laudrup playing on his own up front.
Laudrup was the best player I've seen play in this country.

I always thought it a real shame that Mols got so badly injured, so early in his career. Before that knee injury he got, he was banging goals in all over the place - at home and abroad. After his recovery of sorts, he was never the same player.
Best player I have seen in the flesh. Djorkaeff, utterly sensational.

Get over it, Larsson has left and was only doing what he is getting paid thousands a week for at Barca. Do you think he inspired Barca to victory just because it would get you automatic entry into Europe? I think not, so get over it

. Plus it will be nice to see your team humiliated in the group stages

Henrik Larsson was by far the best non scot ever to have played in Scottish football in my humble opinion, although Big Shuggie Edvallson (Sp

) runs him very close, although in terms of value big Shug did only get £86.50/wk
