Soccer FM is a new weekly podcast feature for season 2016-2017 which we are hosting. The show is a short sharp and hopefully witty review of the weekend's major talking points across the SPFL and is hosted by Dunfermline fan Steven Mill (of Capital FM fame) and Partick Thistle supporter and comedian Ray Bradshaw.
We hope you enjoy it and get involved with the lads as the show takes shape over the coming weeks.
The national side is a constant source of abject misery but at some point it might end. Gordon Strachan is the latest man charged with leading us back to a major tournament for the first time since 1998. Discuss all aspects of the Scotland team here.
There are 30-40 Saturday-playing amateur leagues in Scotland covering Highland, North of Scotland, North of Tay, Tayside, Fife, East of Scotland, South of Scotland, and West of Scotland regions. Discuss them all here !
The P&B massive have a love of many other sports too so if you want to talk Golf, Egg Chasing, Tennis, Yank Football, Baseball, Cricket, Darts, Snooker or Synchronised swimming or anything else then here is the place to do it.
Jamie Wire has retired as our resident statto but never fear as craigkillie has stepped in to take over ! Feel free to post any question in this forum on the subject of Scottish football (line-ups, results, trivia etc) and either he or one of the many forum regulars will be only too happy to try and help!
This is the General Nonsense forum for use by all P&B visitors to discuss anything and everything. Note that any music, tv, film, gaming or technology related threads should be placed in the respective forums (see below this one) for those topics.
Getting good travel advice is invaluable when you are thinking of heading somewhere new. P&B has a very well well travelled membership so this section is for you to pick their brains about where you are off to.
It's long been requested by the masses and finally here it is. P&B Gold is where old classic threads will be moved to by the mods whenever they have served their time in the main forum.
Users can contribute to threads that make their way in here, but can't start new topics here. Of course we want users to suggest threads that merit being moved here, and we will NEVER archive any of the threads that sit in Gold.
Here's a question for Vics fans who know a bit about the history of the club. In the 1980s (or maybe it was the 90s) Vics were second in their league cup section with one game to play. As it happened the last game was against the section leaders and a win for Vics would bring them level on points. However, they were, I think 11 goals behind on goal difference, On the night Vics won 6-0 and assumed their opponents had won the section on goal difference. Later, somebody eventually realised that each goal FOR Vics also counted as a goal AGAINST their opponents and caused a 12 goal turn round. Vics qualified for the quarter finals. The question is.... who were their opponents in that game?
Aitken is'nt with Dumbarton.Maybe we will get a manager who is. In the new era of guys who want to go places I am sure we can get better. Someone who will move on, but in their time with us be sincere and take it seriously. The owners need to take the management seriously. I believe we have a good team. It just needs someone who can think about it seriously
Yeah worked out well eh.
Didn't really come at us per se, was more long balls hit to catch us out with the bounce on your pitch, but you certainly played to home advantage knowing how to trouble us. Wasn't pretty football but it worked and we struggled to deal with high balls into our box all first half, esp with the wind assisting the long balls. Route one from the keeper for the first and two crosses hit from the angles for the other two, we also got away with heading one of the line earlier when Kelly came out to the edge of his box when a ball was hit over the top, so we got a warning of what was coming.
Kelly fecking up for the 3rd goal killed the game off for us, was just too much to come back from 2nd half, 2-0 down with the wind behind us and East Fife not being able to hit long balls and we'd have had at chance of getting something, but East Fife saw out the game quite comfortably with a 3-0 first half lead.
Don't know about the red cards, looked a good 50-50 challenge for Miller's and didn't see Lithgow's alleged elbow, didn't really effect the game as we'd already lost whether they stayed till the end or not, will effect us fr the games they're suspended though as both are key players
East Fife play similar to Brechin, very direct and have pacey attacking players, difficult team to play against.
Wasn't too much damage done league position wise we've moved down to 3rd place one point behind Alloa and Brechin, just have to pick ourselves back up for the next game.
