If any of you are in the market for a new bike , Leslie Bike Shop are having a one day mega sale this Saturday with 40% off lots of bikes to make way for new stock.

Only wish I was needing another one :(

I was down there quite early and managed to pick up two Altura Merino wool base layers for £10 each down from £45. Avoided the bike sale as I don't need another one but it was tough!!!

First couple of days back on the saddle since before Christmas (respiratory reasons stop me cycling in the cold). Christ it's difficult. Especially today because my arse isn't yet reaccustomed to the saddle.

Still, won't be long before it's a breeze again and I'm taking the long route home.

I am thinking of picking up a bike now that I live in the middle of nowhere. Can anyone recommend a good hybrid bike please for no more than 300 quid ?

When you say a hybrid , what kind of cycling are you going to use it for ?

Mainky road,or do you want to use it for some off road too, like towpaths and forest tracks etc ?

Yes mate a bit of both. Mostly country roads and the odd forest track. Cheers

Decathlon Sports

I got my road bike from Decathlon in Edinburgh. Excellent service and a ridiculously decent spec for comparatively little outlay.

As @jupe1407 says , Decathlon is worth a look as you seem to get a lot of value for money there

I'd suggest you go for a hardtail which has front suspension and offers a wee bit more comfort on some of the bumpier tracks

Heres a few maybe worth considering

I know a few are a wee bit above your budget but they're well worth it

Personally, I'd go for either the Fuji from Chain Reaction or  the Giant from Tredz

Just make sure you order the right frame size for your height

There are lots online guides to help you with this on each of these sites

Good luck
