peasy23
England's bowlers were excellent today, opening spells from Ball and Wood set the tone and they were then backed up by Plunkett and Stokes. Excellent variety from all 4 seamers with the cross seam delivery proving very effective. NZ were well placed at 158-2 from 30 but they ended up all out for 223.
wulliemc
I have to admit before Kane got out I thought NZ were going to take this.Eng attack were excellent.
Saigon Raider
Plunkett is consistently excellent - deserved the rewards for his opening spell. Great to see Rashid playing well - gives England a different option (which they really need sometimes). Most encouraging thing is that England got 310 without really firing with the bat - if Hales, Root, Stokes or Buttler had managed to kick on then they would have been looking at 340.
Eednud
Should be a PTTGOYN but the Southern Stars lose their sparkle. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-06-07/cricket-australia-changes-womens-team-name-from-southern-stars/8597000
Salvo Montalbano
I thought I knew most Internet acronyms but what the hell is PTTGOYN meant to represent? Did a Google search and the only thing to come up was this and another P&B thread.
topcat(The most tip top)
Was that the "Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves" thread?
Salvo Montalbano
No, it was something else. Someone had said "this is a PTTGOYN thread so bash on" or something. But there you go. I've not been round here long enough to know all the Pie n Bovrilisms. Took me long enough to get the brace meaning one goal and M9 etc patter. Anyway, surely if it was to he equal they'd just both be called "the Australian cricket team"?
jmothecat
In all honesty I had no idea 'the southern Stars' was the official name, I thought it was just a nickname. Changing the official name to the Australian Women's Cricket Team but keeping the Southern Stars as a nickname sounds sensible to me.
peasy23
Good game this between India and Sri Lanka. India scored 321, SL needing 57 from 48 balls with 7 wickets in hand.
jmothecat
Sri Lanka win. With that and Pakistan's win yesterday group B is looking really interesting. A win and a loss for all four in the group.
Fuctifano
Good, Virat Kohli has a face I'd never tire of punching and an attitude to match. edit: there's a few of that Indian team seem like prize p***ks as well. Really used to like them when it was Tendulkar, Dravid, Dhoni, Kumble etc too. Edited June 8, 2017 by Fuctifano
jmothecat
Bangladesh looking like they will beat New Zealand. That'll be three unexpected results in a row. England with the chance to knock out the Aussies tomorrow.
Bully Wee Villa
Bollocks. Forgot all about the cricket thanks to the election excitement.
jmothecat
England do well to restrict Australia, then chuck away two quick wickets at the start of their innings. Good chance to knock the Aussies out here.
jmothecat
That's the rain on. If the game is abandoned, Australia are out. Would be pretty funny.
jmothecat
Rain stopped, great intent from Morgan and England are starting to recover. Should be a good end to this one if the rain keeps off.

wellboy1991
Really really impressed by Hassan Ali the young Pakistan bowler. The lads death bowling has been outstanding. Against a very strong England attach. Boy looks a star.
