topcat(The most tip top)
Overs 15, 16, 17 & 18 cost 1, 4, 6 & 12 runs respectively as the UAE's last two genuine batsmen move up through the gears Leask restricts them to just 1 run in the 19th and Chris Sole capitalises on their desperation with the opening ball of the 20th 117/6 Raza , the new batsman, has made a total of 20 runs in his last 6 innings
Frankie S
A weakness Scotland have had over the years is their inability to polish sides off when they get them 5 or 6 down. A 77 run partnership (so far) between Usman and Raza means UAE still in with a shout. Scotland should still win from here, as the rate required creeps above 10 an over. Fuctifano
Net run rate always vital.
Hip Priest
Usman gone. Surely no doubt now... Elsewhere, Afghanistan crawling towards a win against the West Indies...
topcat(The most tip top)
Afghanistan beat the West Indies. They came close against us, Incredibly close against Zimbabwe and finally their luck is in UAE on the other hand need 77 off 20 balls with 1 wicket remaining Undefeated Scotland are going to top the league until at least tomorrow when Zimbabwe need to beat Ireland to match us
Fuctifano
Afghanistan win. If we beat Ireland then we go onto 7 which means only Zimbabwe and Windies can finish above us. So I think that means we want Ireland to win tomorrow vs Zimbabwe but also Ireland to lose to Afghanistan in their last match?
Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabadoo
1 win should do it, but it is Scotland so we'll probably go out to Zimbabwe on run rate having beaten the West Indies or something.
Fuctifano
The most likely scenario is we lose both games and go out but having faffed about with spreadsheets, if Ireland beat Zimbabwe and we beat Ireland then we're through. Also wouldn't mind a week's worth of torrential rain in Zimbabwe starting right now tbh.

Should move the next round of games to Fife!

I checked the long term forecast for Harare and there's not much chance of that The final round of fixtures may be affected by Thunderstorms but they're not going to be rained off 2018-03-16 IRE ZIM Harare Sports Club 2018-03-18 IRE SCO Harare Sports Club 2018-03-19 WIN ZIM Harare Sports Club 2018-03-20 AFG UAE Old Hararians, Harare 2018-03-21 SCO WIN Harare Sports Club 2018-03-22 ZIM UAE Harare Sports Club 2018-03-23 AFG IRE Harare Sports Club
Sloop John B
Zimbabwe limp to 211-9 for after being 112-6. Should be in Ireland’s favour to chase that down but it’s almost a similar chase to the Scotland vs Zimbabwe tie.
Fuctifano
Ireland getting absolutely waxed which means even if we beat them on Sunday we need Zimbabwe to beat Windies (or us to beat both Ireland and Windies) for us to qualify. Even if Ireland win both games vs us and Afghanistan there's a decent chance they're cooked. Edit - assuming Zimbabwe beat UAE and there's no washouts or ties. Frankie S
Looks like that missed opportunity against Zimbabwe, to close out the win when well on top, may prove costly.
Fuctifano
The nightmare scenario is beat Ireland tomorrow, Windies beat Zimbabwe, we lose to Windies, Zimbabwe beat UAE and we go out on net run rate.

Also if we'd polished off UAE quicker the net run rate difference would have been big.
topcat(The most tip top)
Well if we’re exactly as good as Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe have horsed Ireland then we should horse Ireland Similarly we beat Afghanistan and they beat the West Indies we should have little to fear from the Caribbeans So logically We’re basically through to the finals England seem to favourites largely because they’re hosting it but Scotland is as close as you can get without actually being hosts so we’re probably 2nd favourites
Fuctifano
Haha. Hadn't realised that we're through if we beat the West indies regardless of the Ireland result. I know it's not the 1980s team but they're still going to be heavy favourites. Capable of brain farts tho.
FuzzyBear
The nightmare scenario is beat Ireland tomorrow, Windies beat Zimbabwe, we lose to Windies, Zimbabwe beat UAE and we go out on net run rate. That is what I can see happening. Hopefully Zimbabwe beat the Windies. I didnt see their game yesterday but I am told the Windies were awful.
Bully Wee Villa
I think it's still most likely that we will lose to Ireland and the Windies. The Irish seem to have the hoodoo over us.
