Is the whole series day night or just this test match?

Just this one. Dull as dishwater so far, how much of that is down to the pink ball and how much is due to the Windies bowlers being pish is anyone's guess.

The pitch was doing plenty early on. This has all the makings of an innings victory.

Its a pity the West Indies have dwindled from one of the best teams in the world to on a par with the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

It's been a sad decline from the days when they had the most feared bowling attack in the world to where they are now. Too many of their players chasing T20 money and the Test team has suffered badly because of it.

Literally stole what i was gonna say. To go from malcolm marshall Joel garner,Michael holding curtly Ambrose etc to this lot of trundlers is grim. Never mind losing gordon greenidge viv richards etc etc. They were the cricket equivalent of 1970 brazil team.....now they are Cowdenbeath

This West Indies - or 'Windies' as they wish to be called - are just dreadful in the field.  Almost like that Pakistan team that were on the take, only these guys are just incompetent.

With stokes about to come in, and Bairstow and Ali to follow, England should be looking at having 600 up by tea, weather permitting.

Stokes didn't last long, 501-5 now with Cook edging towards 250. Think the score doesn't really matter tbh, think it's more important for England to keep batting so they can declare at the right time, and give themselves the last hour or so under the lights with the new ball. It moved around a bit for the Windies bowlers last night so I'm sure Anderson and Broad will be desperate to get a chance to bowl in the same conditions.

And Ali gone as well! That prediction went well emoji23.png

Chance for Cook to carry his bat now

Real danger now that England are going to f**k up their chance to get the best from the new ball. Still think they will win comfortably though.
