Another fixture moan

The recommendation from the Working Group, based on consultation of all clubs, is to do away with the end-of-season League Cups and amalgamate the Ayrshire and Central Sectional Cups based on 16 groups of 4 teams with a pre-determined geographically based knockout draw (with Dunipace leaving one section would now be left with just 3 teams).
As I've already explained on the Central League Cup thread, the overall effect should be to have 154 fewer cup-ties, nicely balancing  the 164 game increase in league matches, and making end-of-season fixture setting much less chaotic.

Has there ever been any talk of having a divisional cup for each of the 4 leagues ? Games would be by far more competitive

Instead of the traditional Ayrshire / central cups.

That’s a strange post from their twitter given that it’s their club that have asked for the postponement

It seems that the either the management team requested the postponement without the approval of or consulting with the committee, or whoever does the official club Twitter wasn't informed of the reason for the postponement before he tweeted.

Either way our sympathies go to the McColl family.

The guy who does the twitter couldn't be contacted regarding the postponed game. So it looks like he got a surprise when he seen it was off and tweeted he knew nothing about it, which he didn't by the looks of it. [emoji15]

Any decision on future cup competitions can only be made by all the Clubs at the A.G.M. next month.

Please don’t amalgamate the sectional we have a west cup which is being treated with contempt by mr Robertson that would give us 2 west’s in theory and with all top east teams leaving the Scottish will be a glorified west as well leave the districts as they are make the sectional for bottom 2 leagues giving them more fixtures and a chance of winning a trophy get stuck into league games as early as possible for top 2 leagues it is workable get a full fixture list out get new blood in for fixture secretary and no offense to the GS it’s time for a change new league new cup structure good chance of new investment into our game

heard the new format for the league cup  both Central and Ayrshire is to have groups of 4 teams, based on regional basis for each region, so for example you could have Beith Dalry Kilbirnie and Largs in group. The way i've been told it would work it would be a round robin basis , play each team once , top team qualifies for knock out stage. The way the format works it will guarantee a Ayrshire/Central final. Sectional Games will be played the 1st week of new season Sat Mon Wed.

With the new league set up  to make sure we don't end up with a fixture glut at end of season the plan ive been told is to play Sat/Wed for whole of August for League games, so assuming no postponements teams should all have played 8 league games by end of August...Suppose though its all down to the AGM and if its voted through....

Also hearing proposals that no replays for1st 2 rounds of the Scottish and back up league fixtures in case of postponements where practical. That would have to be agreed at the SJFA AGM obviously.

Being dragged into the 21st century slowly but surely.

I think it'll be down to the new Fixture Secretary, (if the clubs want one that is), how the fixtures will be planned.
Plus there is only 24 ex-ayrshire clubs, meaning there will only be 6 group winners from Ayrshire and 10 group winners from Central. So you're not guaranteed an Ayrshire/Central final.

My fears about winning the league and the subsequent participation in the Evening Times Champions Cup are being realised. 4 of the 5 teams are known, but none of the fixtures have been scheduled yet. No reason why we can't play Rossvale next Monday or Wednesday. If the final is going to be on 9th June then it's going to be very tight to fit the games in.

Beith and auchinleck are both still in West and Ayrshire cups as well as having a league game left plus talbot still have Scottish cup final beith cud have as little as 3 games left or as many as 11 and after Saturday might just have the last league game left

The mans totally incompetent of doing the job, that’s the second time this season he’s done it to us
He's been kind enough to give us a home league fixture on the Wednesday after the cup final, unfortunately it's against Glenafton, and we've already played them at home [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

He's fixed it now, but it really is a shambles.

Cambuslang v Pollok hasn't been rescheduled as far as I can see, so it looks like the earliest our West QF against the winners will be played is Saturday 9th June.

Monday 4th June
