Here we go again, I’ve asked for nor no slagging etc but you can’t help yourself, as with all plans they will come to pass when the time for that is so. It’s not hard I’ve asked how we can promote the region, how do we get fans back , how do we entice new fans. Instead you just want to attack.
There are many things wrong in the junior game this is another.

For the record and anyone who knows me will vouch, I’m not a yes man, I’m forward thinking and try new stuff, I don’t take no for an answer and I’m certainly not a sheep.
Also “his holiness” before I joined the management this year I’d heard many many horror stories about him, I voted for kennie last year, now much as I’ve had my arguments, more than a few I also see some of the good but this topic is not about any individual, I’ve given you a number of my ideas in the opening post, my ideas only not been discussed with any other on the management committee so put that to bed.
There’s been no comment from you on wether they have merit or not.
Now please let’s start again and see if we can bring something to the table to discuss. Now again I’m looking for positive discussion if your for it great if your not there’s a doom and gloom post elsewhere

No disrespect, but he has a point: you mentioned you "know the problems and have various ideas on how to fix them". You need to tell folk what you think these problems are and what you plan doing about them otherwise this is just seems like a tick-box exercise so you can say you've asked folk before the AGM.

As everyone will say the biggest stumbling block is the Scottish cup and how much an effect it has on your season just ask wishaw it must be put to bed from end of November and if you can manage that then you make the fixture list in winter months very workable and if you can produce such a fixture list fans will come back gone are the days of most people working Monday to Friday get the fixtures as said earlier beginning July for games upto first week in January then get next set of fixtures up by 30th November thus allowing fans like myself who work most Saturdays the chance to look down the list and request days off at work or take a weekend holiday to watch games this in turn will get bigger gates and with bigger gates you will attract better sponsorship for clubs and for the region as a whole I feel like a broken record but bin the league cups and get straight into league and maybe play early rounds of district cups getting you down to the quarters to be played near end of season and try and make the Scottish cup final the showcase and last game of the season

Would be interested to know what the 'changes' are that 'are afoot' so that if people have ideas, they are not replicating what is already underway.

I’d imagine that’s the Scottish committee that would’ve been meeting, I’m not on that, no elephant but don’t let that stop you.
Anything to put forward how we promote the region or am I wasting my time here?

Give you another wee insight to me that way you might realise the questions I’m asking and answers I’m looking for are for the right reasons.
I’ve been involved in amateur football for nearly 30 years starting my own team at 16, took over running the Glasgow Sunday Afl in 2002 I think, increased it from 28 teams to 64, became junior Vice President of safa in 2010 by default, chaired various committees, stood against twice but I came thru each time eventually they got rid of my position , mainly because I’m not a yes man and questioned a lot of things, tried to put various things in place which eventually did come in but not with my name on it, five years ago I started the 35s league and have went from 8 teams to 54, this year I started a Friday night league.
I’m not a yes man, I don’t have an agenda, I really can’t be arsed with constant negativity . Now again I know there’s a few changes coming that with everything else comes out when they boxes are ticked, that’s how committees work.
Now I’m here to try to get ideas from you guys who have been involved in the juniors far longer than I have to allow me to try to take something to the table to help improve our game.

Ideally I’d be able to do that but if it’s a problem I’ll wait till after the agm when I imagine all things will be clearer and hopefully the doom and gloomers either piss off or start to help..

How do we promote the region
Better media presence is imperative.

Live coverage of cup draws would be a minimum. Personally i would go the down the route of a live internet broadcast rather than relying on a TV station and their schedules, but I'm sure others will disagree.

A better website. The website is woefull. There are essentially no statistics. Add leading scorers pages, yellow and red card statistics etc. The website also must be redesigned to be mobile friendly IMO.

You could also ask P&B to provide dedicated threads for specific topics like fixture updates, postponements, etc where only pre-specified club officials could post so we know the info is official and it can't be hi jacked by the keyboard warriors.

You could also have a P and B thread for specific debates. In this case, i would ask that the thread OP could delete posts that are off topic or offensive. I know that's what the mods are meant to do but they can't monitor everything.

He's asking for ways of promoting the region. Not asking how to fix the problems that we know are already there. I think a much bigger social media presence would help and make it easier for people to interact with the region.

Advertising matches announcing postponments as and when they get them that kinda thing as well as pushing club match highlights.

Could also help attract sponsorship as could use to announce any kinda initiatives / competitions with sponsors that kinda thing.

Upto you but one way or the other the Juniors are no likely to exist soon. My advice is concentrate on wee stuff that will help clubs next season, dinnae bother with Peter Martin or Roughy or bigger ideas the now.

Maybe a course on communication skills... you've still not answered the question.

Mate, I'm not so up on that technology, but there are those on here who are. I'm sure you could probably broadcast via a dedicated website page though, thus being able to attract sponsors rather than promoting YouTube

With the various match highlights from teams we could do a weekly show maybe out on a Friday night with a sort of scot sport feel, we have guys doing junior radio shows at present so could try to increase that.. need to get better coverage to entice sponsors, we have a great package just needs brought into 21st century

You could even have a game of the week with extended highlights of that particular game and interviews etc

And you’ve not even bothered to answer mine, so to answer your question.
Committees work on trust and procedures, certain things were put in place at Tuesday night’s management meeting that’s needs to be put to clubs first and foremost to vote on at agm s not divulged on a public forum first. I’m sure you understand that but I’m also sure that won’t be good enough for you.

Maybe you could answer mine or will you still want to play a game

I've done two kinda fly on the wall type things for two other clubs and they were popular as people get to see more than they do even if they have been at games. Could do it for cup finals etc gives sponsors more exposure as well

Simple things to start of with -
4x 16 leagues (or 3x16, 1x15 as it will be next season)
Two Up, two down automatically. Play off between third top and third bottom
Junior Cup - first round first weekend in September, 2nd round 1st weekend in October, 3rd round last weekend in October, Rounds then played from March onwards
Aside from the 2nd round weekend all clubs will have fixtures issued to them for the same weekend as Cup fixtures.
One regional Cup (Old Ayrshire and Old Central Leagues) - straight knockout basis
No Evening Times Cup
Fixture list issued the first week in July to list all games up until December 31st.
1st November - fixture list issued for the remainder of the season, with notice that postponed fixtures will be slotted into the earliest midweek.
All competitions to be completed by May 31st - with the last Saturday in May being the cut off date.
Clubs will have fixtures issued on a  HAHAHAHAHAHAHA basis (Home and Away!), swaps only allowed if the pitch is unplayable.
If a club has floodlights then not playing under them isn't an option.
Clubs not allowed to request a week off.
No weeks off for things such as "September weekend or Scottish Grand National"
All postponed games will be checked by an SJFA or SFA official - I want proof of burst pipes.
All clubs unable to fulfil a fixture to be automatically docked 25 points.
A regularly updated social media strategy to be implemented by all clubs.
All top 2 division teams required to produce video highlights of their home games.
Who is going to pay for these video highlights
This at the moment is generally done by the good will of someone who has an interest in this at no cost to the club

Well said Alex
This forum is anti times anti junior football
Posts by folk who never bring anything positive to the table and tbh I'm not sure most of them even go to the games.

Well maybe you could give us a general idea of your thoughts, rather than specifics. There's been a lot of suggestions already. I'd say:

*Discussion with SJFA about not playing SJC November to Febuary-ish, scrapping replays and getting out of this cycle of postponed games taking up every Saturday

*Scrap the sectional cups

*Keep the West Cup, but issue the dates in advance

*League fixture list with first round of cup dates built in, after that then league games moved, to midweek if necessary

*Floodlights can be used at any time

*No holiday weeks

*Think seriously about the pyramid - it is coming. Maybe a WoSFL is on the cards. Reach out to the senior leagues and governing bodies

*Be transparent - tell us what's going on, what the board is thinking etc

*Update the website, publicise the fixtures

I'm also being serious - you definitely need to consider your own communication skills. You're in a position of authority on a committee and you're talking down to folk like they're idiots, it's not a good look, particularly when you're asking for help.
