You could see as the camera moved around the ground that most folk were just standing there holding their phones, most likely filming it for Facebook likes, the resultant self gratification and too busy looking at the event through an electronic screen to properly enjoy the moment. A genuinely horrendous game almost completely bereft of quality and full of diving and play acting to a mental degree by overhyped players who, rather than trying to win, seem to be trying not to lose. There's something completely off about it all as well. It just feels like it utterly lacks meaning and soul. It's like some pre-season bore game. Get it right to fucking f**k. Not helped by 90,000 glory hunters watching a half-arsed rivalry in a competition that isn't constantly w***ed over like the EPL or Champion's League (ie. it strangely feels cheapened in comparison) and is being shown on cooncil tv as if it was pushed back by the Scottish final in addition to the other things you highlight.
