If anything Motherwell are playing too open at the back, although you can't do much when McGregors scoring screamers. Theres no point talking about lower league teams against Celtic either, they play at fucking half pace the majority of the time anyway, the only games they actually start on fire are Finals and against Rangers, they coast the rest. Celtic have clearly shown, by going over a season unbeaten, that “clogging up the final third” is a shite way of taking anything from them. The only way Motherwell were doing anything here was to close down, put that shaky defence under pressure and force mistakes - something we’ve seen before. It’s hard finding proper figures but I’ve seen Motherwells is 105x68 metres (7,140m2) whilst Hampden is supposed to be 115x75 (8,625m2) which really is quite a big difference.
