Got to sit down and play the first 3 hours of this, I've heard the start is slow but dont fully agree. Incredibly cinematic though, combat is more deliberate than previous GOWs and the dynamic with the child feels fresh and not "escort mission" fodder. Can't wait to get ripped in tonight.

Is your "son" definitely not just the usual "companion"? And he's not just "unkillable fodder" like on Fallout games?

It's the one thing that's making me waver about this game

I would say he is very useful, he has importance in combat as well as the story. He is a very likeable character too, as is the majority of the cast. It isn't one big escort mission if that's what you're pushing at.

Cheers. Yeah I get bored of the "your companion needs this/needs to go here" type missions, and Fallout had your companion solely there to absorb bullets and chip away HP while you stood back until the enemy was weakened.

For example there's bit of lore to be found around the world and Artreus will write it down and you can wander off and he will catch up. He can be knocked down but of course he won't die, there is an element of being able to abuse his support actions but the combat with Kratos never gets boring so there's no need to.

Picked this up a few weeks ago cheap on Indonesia psn and started it today. Very impressed so far. Love games where you meet a massive enemy early on and think there's no way I'm going to have to fight that just now, then you have to fight it!!

I've finally got this game, mostly due to scouring the PS store, remembering it existed and seeing its available for about £12.

Sensational game, just got the mountain summit, and headed back to the Witches house. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to return to her house though, as could I f**k figure out how to get out the cave.
