I think Wallace and McKenna have done more than ok for us. And same with Hutton. Opinions can vary but I struggle to comprehend the need for downright blanket badmouthing of some decent players. That's not to minimise valid critiques but expressing in terms of extremes/black and white ...just seems pointless.

I do not understand the criticism of your team from some of the fans on here, you win the div 2 , you are now in with a good chance of the championship in the playoffs but yet still not happy

do you seriously think you should be winning this league ?  :thumbsdown

We have some very strange supporters who think we should be pumping teams and playing amazing football week in and week out. some of them just don't like and never will like the  Campbells  regardless of what they achieve at Arbroath so we get this over the top criticism when the team loses. Most sane Arbroath supporters are happy where we are at the moment.

Highlight of my weekend was definitely the Arbroath man-child’s celebrating at two nil then leaving totally dejected and now comparing who has had a season ticket longer.

Notice lichtie78 never entered the season ticket comparison.

Spot on, i have to laugh at some of the comments on here or at the games, some folk who can make it to all home/away games seem to think they are experts on everything "football" and those that cannot make every game (because of location/work etc) should have a lesser say on the team than them?...............lol

In regards the constant slagging off of certain Red Lichtie players i think it is a disgrace that you would slag off your own players??

You get the feeling some of our "support" hope that the players they don't like have a stinker of a game so they can slaughter them on here,

I don’t need a season ticket, just go on the bungee jumps at pleasureland instead. That way you really get to experience the ups and downs of lower-league football.

We’ve bottled a two goal league two weeks in a row, obviously the team is going to be criticised. Play-offs was the target at the start of the season and we are on course to achieve that, hopefully confirm it sooner rather than later so we can rotate the squad a bit as I’m not overly bothered about finishing 3rd.

It’s becoming an odd feeling when serious unease will now strike in the rare cases when we might go 2 goals up

I'm never totally confident at 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go, so why break the habit of a lifetime?

That's certainly not a solid looking wall!!

A bit like the defence, lots of gaps.

Hilarious eh. Also so that they can try and get a one over on other posters on here, so very cringey but it’s just expected now [emoji3]

On a side note why is Colin Hamilton suddenly fancying himself as a FK specialist?

Are we at a stage where we think that some of our fans, who reguarly travel 2/300+ mile round trips midweek are actually going to such lengths to watch us so they can hopefully see some of our players have shit performances? Going to Stranraer away on a Tuesday night from Arbroath is pretty wild in itself, but doing so to hopefully watch your own players play shite would be off the radar mental and if anyone was doing that they need medically assessed FFS. The people on here who seem to be the most vocal against certain players are also those who put in an incredible amount of time, money and effort to support the club in every game we play.

I think some comments can be waaaaay over the top and right now I'm perfectly happy with where we're at and have no huge issue with any of the players we have in our squad currently. However, I think a lot of comments are born out of frustration after people put in said time/ effort/ money to watch us and feel let down at times. Personally I think the only time it's correct to have a go at a player during the game is if they're not putting in the effort (putting in 100% effort is an absolute basic every single player should do in every game) and after a game constructuve criticism is far better than outright 'this player is shite, that player is useless' etc.

Would also add this 'how many years have you had a season ticket/ how far away do you live' etc patter is absolute pish. Some people can't get to games every week due to location/ family/ finances/ other committments etc etc. and to say that makes them not a 'real fan' is nonsense. If someone attends a game then quite simply their opinion is obviously going to be worth far far more on said game than those who weren't there, but it doesn't mean they're some sort of super fan and everything they say is gospal, the same way if someone doesn't make as many games as they'd want it doesn't mean their opinion is worthless. We're all Arbroath fans, and we're all entitled to our opinions, it's just my opinion is worth more than everyone elses

I think that there are some people that hold a grudge against guys and when they have that they can’t let it go

I have been to countless number of away games where people have spent a lot of money and put a lot of time in and before a balls been kicked guys have been getting slaughtered, after one thing the guy does wrong, after several others have done the same he’ll get slaughtered, when he does something good you’ll get the ‘he’s still pish’ after it.

So not saying anyone’s wanting anyone to play pish naw just saying some people have their opinions from the off and they’re very hard to budge. [emoji6]

100% agree Simon.

Some sane comments to finish up the thread but some of the Lichties banter has been unbelievable.  Just hope we can have another couple of threads before the season is out because that will mean an Alloa v Arbroath play off final.  YEAH!!!
