I don’t think it should have been a red card. It should have been two yellows for Brown and the Motherwell guy.

The wording of the rules is deliberately laid out poorly to give referees the freedom to do pretty much whatever they want.

Some days refs do the 'good talking to' other days the same ref gives a straight red. Just doesnt add up.
 

Last week being a prime example - John and Brown both got away with obvious bookings
