Boyd hit 31 once, 26 twice, 25 and 22, all for Rangers, all domestic - for a side who don't really have to worry too much about keeping it tight at the back.

How many Euro goals did Boyd score? How many in England or abroad?

He's a better finisher than Miller no doubt, but an inferior all round player. But with your sagely knowledge of the game, you get that.

And miller's were domestic or in the championship.

And it's a matter of opinion he was a better all round player, Boyd could actually control the ball which would have helped us get out whereas with miller it always came straight back, and was better in the air, stronger and better with his back to goal.  And obviously a better goalscorer too which is rather important.  We persisted with miller and he failed every time.

Strachan didn't like him apparently. That's why he never called Adam up.

In Strachan’s defence Adam hasn’t really played much over the last few years.
The last time he hit a bit of form he called him up for the Qatar friendly.

Apart from the ones he scored in the Champions' League - a comp he was trusted to start in time after time (but neither Rangers nor Celtic won that cup so that justifies your argument etc etc to the point of utter tedium)

Miller was a far better player than Boyd, Rhodes and McCormack.

Generally Boyd scored against utter dross.

We would have been unlikely to create any chances with Boyd up front himself, given that Miller had to single handedly drag us up the park most of the time. There’s a reason Miller played at a higher level than any of the three of them.

To be fair to Boyd he only generally scored against the dross because he was only generally played against the dross, more than a goal every three games is not to be sniffed at!!!

Perhaps if a formation or tactics was found where we could have played him up front with Miller his true worth would have been found out one way or another!!!

Agree with the rest though!!!

5. Boyd got zero. Think Boyd only ever started 1 champs league game with multiple appearances from the bench. There's a reason for that - one that clearly is beyond your levels of comprehension.

Excellent to see I'm now a 'champ'. Do you have a flowchart for this pish?

Kris Boyd was always an awful awful footballer who can do nothing apart from scoring goals. It's no coincidence that he struggled in teams that did not dominate every game and give him a lot of service.

Kenny Miller, though not a great footballer by any means, was four or five times the player Boyd ever was through sheer hardwork.

Except not as good at the scoring goals but.  You know his job. And controlling a football, also quite important.

Kris Boyd scored goals against shite teams at a time when Scotland struggled to score goals against shite teams.

He should have had more caps.

Agree with that 100%. Boyd and Miller vs shite teams didn't happen often enough.

Kris Boyd scored against:

Bulgaria x2

Faroe Islands x2

Georgia

South Africa

Lithuania

He was able to score against Georgia, given more recent results against them that's perhaps a stat that shouldn't be overlooked!!![emoji6]

His 7 goals came in his first 14 games, his where he was used more often under Walter Smith, his last 4 caps were all sub appearances, IIRC he was dropped by Burley for the first two of them, had a falling out with him, didn't get picked again until Levien came in then only had another two sub appearances!!!

Pretty glad we no longer have to endure the hoof the ball for Miller to chase into the corner flag tactics that plauged us for so many years.

Miller worked his bollocks off for us, scored some memorable goals and obviously had pride in playing for Scotland but we relied on his work rate way too much and it held us back a few years in developing our style of play, something which Strachan done well to re-introduce.  Just a shame we fold like a wet paper towel when the chips are down.

Darren Fletcher and Craig Gordon can count themselves extremely unlucky to not have played for Scotland more.

Boyd is the most natural goalscorer we have had since McCoist, he should have had more caps but his time has gone now.

Craig Beattie scored against Georgia as well. He was shite though and wasn't even that good at scoring goals against weaker teams (though he did score a penalty in a cup semi for Hearts against Celtic which was absolute scenes).

Germany
Italy
Norway x 2
England
Ukraine
Czech Republic
Lithuania

in what were (at the time) big games. Kris Boyd couldn't even score against Lichtenstein. Case closed.

Millers also the 6th top scorer for Scotland in our history to !!! Only behind Dalglish law Gallagher Reilly McCoist no bad scoring record
