Dumping any significant traffic into that area is nuts and would probably require upgrades to the road network that would dwarf the cost of the bridge. Let's be honest, it's an utter shitehole and is much more similar to Northern Ireland in terms of 'culture'. Best description I ever read of Ayrshire was that it would have been a great place if they hadn't built all the shite towns and populated them with absolute zoomers. So, forget the bridge.
