Beith will take at least 3 off Lochee. If it was a home game for Lochee then I could see they would have a chance, but away to Beith they have no chance.

Beith are a robust and effective team who play together. Lochee will find that out soon. And this is coming from a Talbot fan lol

I would say the opposite was true.  This season they have won six games away from their patch but at home, far weaker.  Even we went there and won this season.

Lochee never give up, as we found to our cost last season when 3-0 up and coasting, only to lose 4-3.

How can you say lochee have no chance?? They are in the tie so have a chance. Lochee play together as well It’s all about opinions though. I feel sometimes the west just discard the east teams. There are some really good east teams who do really well. I agree beith are favourites but think it’s out of order saying beith will take 3 off lochee especially people who don’t watch them every week. Hope the beith players honk it will be a walk in the park. They might just be shocked. emoji106.png

It's a cup tie, of course Lochee are in with a chance. But Beith are hard to beat, especially on their home pitch which has, let's say, some idiosyncratic features. As for the east west thing, it does seem that when it comes to the crunch in the Scottish the west team tends to win through. Example, few seasons back Kelty were being hailed as the big east hope, the dark horse, the team to avoid. Talbot drew them away in the quarters. I have to say I went through to the game with some trepidation and when Kelty came on the field they looked a big  fit team, I thought this will be tough. Result, Kelty 0 Talbot 4 and it was every bit as convincing as that score line.  Anyway good luck at Beith, they have a smashing wee set up and great nosh!

Beith are a solid west unit with non fluid fans haha

BJM, think your right, would probably describe Beith fans as lurid! BTW is that Talbot colours on your profile picture, or is it Ladeside?

Isa my fellow Talbotonian, going from idiosyncratic features to great nosh is dropping our linguistic talent that Auchinleck, along with junior cup wins is famous for.May i suggest an edit to perhaps local palatable delicacies,is more inkeeping to your natural writing talent.

I know Carnoustie has the infrastructure to host the Open golf, but can it handle the black and gold army.Eeka Peeka on tour,to the East comrades!!

You might be in for an unpleasant shock, as the ground is a long way from town.  Nearest pub half a mile away.

I was attempting  a certain paradox,  juxtaposing two opposing phrases in the same sentence creating a contrasting context. However my fellow follower of the colossus that is ATFC, it is all subjective and subsequently appreciate your considered critique!  :thumsup2

Was this the match which was postponed about 7 times and eventually had to be played at a neutral venue?

Yes sir! This was before  Kelty reached for the stars in the EOSL and installed plastic, their home turf apparently was afflicted by "black thatch" at the time which was wreaking havoc. The game eventually was played at Ballingry a couple of miles from Kelty, although one would have been forgiven for thinking it was a couple of hundred miles given the lack of maroon clad supporters.

Most of the teams will probably feel the draw has given them a chance to progress. It’s hard to bet against Talbot on their form. Hurlford are in the tie if they play well because Bo’ness rely heavily on set plays which they can plan to combat. Beith have players coming back at the right time, although I always think they are more dangerous on the road. Kirkie of all teams will be expecting safe passage.

Scored 17 in the first 5 rounds and only against Kilbirnie did we score from a corner the other 2 were pens. These are the stats.

All opinions. Scouted you twice. Even in your 442 you are first and foremost a defensive team against the strong sides. Good centre halves, good goalie, wee problem at right back. Midfield is solid with no game changer (excluding cup tied players) and front two are a handful but not likely to run you ragged. Not knocking of any of this because you signed badly last summer and the manager has been fixing this over the winter. You will be favourites to beat a hurlford team who are in transition but they have a few course and distance specialists in their ranks so it’s not a gimme.

That's a decent call to be fair.
