McLeish's coaching team.

Bob Malcolm was on OFTB ON Saturday. They've got a good record of getting out of work coaches a gig. Once described by Eck  as the best passer of a ball in Scotland.

The thing is Peppino I reckon you have it the wrong way round. There is no such thing as being qualified to give an opinion or to hold an opinion, not in the casual public realm at least. In court,  in academia, or on the news media, there are rules around someone's suitability to proffer an opinion, given that it will be endorsed by the relevant medium, but this is just a bunch of fans getting their points across.

It's pretty much a given that none of us have played at a high level, or are currently coaching, so there's never going to be anyone who really has any idea about the nuts and bolts of coaching qualifications and the like. None of this matters though. People have a right to vote and hold (and put forward) opinions on what it means to be an electoral representative and this right is not conditional on them having ever held parliamentary office.

The value of your opinion is conferred by others. The holding of a qualification will often enable this opinion to be held in high value, but the value itself is conferred by those hearing said opinion.

Everyone getting upset about the passengers in this car rather than concentrating on the fact we've appointed a drunken monkey to drive the fucking thing.

The person that matters here is McLeish, folk like Faddy (and McCoist when he did a similar role) are there to keep spirits high and people motivated, perhaps even creating a bit of respect between the players and management as well. How much coaching can actually be done with these guys when they only get together for a week at a time?  The coaching is done at club sides and it's down to McLeish to get them organised the way he wants them in the short time they have, I very much doubt Faddy or Bonner or the likes will be expected to give Guardiola style tactical advice.

You're missing the point.  We can give an opinion on players cause we can watch them.  None of us see Bonner coach, or have spoken to anybody coached by him.  So people here are basing it on he sounds like a bit of an arsehole.  It's laughable.

What's Ian Cathro up to these days...?  :whistle

In all seriousness, if you were to ignore his awful stint in charge of Hearts, is he not the sort of person who might be considered a good option for the national set up in some coaching capacity?

yes he should be employed by the SFA top drawer coach

Cathros training methods were described as archaic by Hearts players.

Not that they're qualified to criticise his training methods, obviously.

Show us a quote.  You're lying.  The wolves boss said within five minutes he knew he was a genius, described it as revolutionary and the best coach he's ever seen.  You're lying.

Plenty of quotes going around about how he couldn't get the squad nearly fit enough.

He's a average coach who can sell himself, and he'll never be a manager, nothing more, nothing less.

I've coached nine national teams to world cups and caddied for Fidel Castro, fwiw.

Show us where hearts players described his coaching as archaic.

They have conditioning coaches for that btw.  You literally have no clue what you're talking about.

Don Cowie and Christophe Berra had to pull him aside last pre-season and say to him to try and keep his talks simple and that if they didn't understand all his "buzz words" how would 16 and 17 yr old boys know what he was on about.

He's clearly not a manager but he's thoroughly proven to be a fantastic coach
