McInnes needs to shut up about the pitch, he’s like a broken record - if he’s so annoyed, go and kick the groundsman’s backside.

Not like we've been playing much fitba away from home either though is it.

I’ve heard today that replay tickets will be £10 adults and £5 concessions with both clubs happy that this game is bonus income (not sure if game is on tv yet).

That’s excellent pricing.

Imagine how many fans Hearts would bring at those prices. Or any prices for that matter.

It's not the groundsmans fault. Is he responsible for every other top flight pitch that looks shit?

Milne needs to put some cash up and get a proper  pitch if we want to compete.

Strike that - he couldn't be arsed building a training complex when Ebbe asked, and every other manager after that

We asked to play the last two home games away from home last season for this purpose.

So the club did invest in a new pitch in the summer?   .....or did we just re-lay a new version of the last bad one, which makes you wonder if the groundsman could have offered better advice on a pitch that copes with a Scottish winter.

Guest Bob Mahelp

Pitch looked OK up until the end of December.

Then we came back after the winter break, and f*ck me it looks like we spent a month planting the harvest on it.

It's horrific....almost as bad as it was about 4 years ago. I'd rather have a plastic pitch than something that's absolutely impossible to play football on.

Replay not on TV

When did this rule of no televised football on a CL night start?    Man Utd v Sevilla and Roma v Shakhtar - whoop dee doo.

UEFA now stretch the last 16 of the CL over four midweeks - so when are you meant to play cup replays?

Clubs used to make about 80K each out of these from Sky Sports, so presumably we gain even more from complying with UEFA's rules , which sound like restraint of trade violations in any other guise.

They demoted Head Groundsman at the end of least season and then appointed someone that was at a golf club - they are going to have to look into this as in 80's/90's we used to have the best pitch.

I do wonder if they train on it when they can't get training facilities as its really poor for the last 5 seasons.

To  be fair we got a decent wedge from Celtic's CL money the past few years....

I think the plastic pitch will help you, unfortunately.

Our record on Kilmarnock's plastic pitch is good with a few big wins in there - and we smashed Falkirk 5-0 on theirs on the way to our LC win.

However, our record on Hamilton's is woeful.

Think a bit of moisture on the surface helps good footballers zip the ball around  - if it's bone dry it suits the hammer throwers more.

Going by your long ball tactics on Saturday you'll be hoping it's dry then!
