Staggies v Jambos

Ross County, unbeaten in forever, currently averaging a goal every 17 minutes.

Bang-average Hearts possibly buoyed slightly by scraping single goal victories in their past 2 outings against the only teams in the league worse than them.

Hard to see anything other than a resounding home victory in this one.

7-0 County - another Schalk hat-trick, Chow, Ngog, DKD and Fox with the others.

I wouldn't have Davies in. Fontaine and Souttar did fine and no doubt Davies would last about 20 minutes before hobbling off.

I also don't want Fraser anywhere near centre half for this, he struggled in the air at Tynecastle against his opponents.

Usually like to keep a winning team, but I think Milinkovic might come back in for this as well as Naismith who's fit again.  Cowie is also available again and Cochrane has an outside chance.  All of a sudden our squad is starting to have a good bit depth about it.

We've got Woods at Partick and Mikkelson at Dundee United as well. We're playing the long game by punting a dud to each of our relegation rivals. Sadly Dundee weren't falling for it again after Mark Klok.

Martin Woods has been really good for us. Has made a big contribution to our upturn in form.

I think it's looking more that Woods was poorly used by McIntyre than him not being good enough for this level.

Id argue it always looked like that.

Not expecting much from the Hearts game, will prob come down to a mistake, either by a player or the ref.
Lately we've been on the receiving end of a few of each, including our last game against Hearts.
Irrationally hopeful of a win, expect to lose 1 or 2 nil though.

Hard to judge the quality of a player when the role they are being used in doesn't suit them and you so rarely see them tried any where else unless you're seeing them at training or whatever. McIntyre's insistence on keeping Woods on freekicks also really hurt him in the eyes of the fans. That was bewildering every time he sclaffed one into the Cromarty Firth.

Wednesday's P&J quotes by Coyle suggested that none of Davies, Lindsay nor Tansey would be available but they're all pretty close to coming back.  Tansey sounded the closest, with a quote along the line of him needing to train every day this week without any kind of reaction.

Yesterday's DL team had Tim Chow starting (and scoring).  Even after he scored as a sub for the first team in the 4-1 win @ Dens, his instant demotion to the reserves suggests there will be a place in the 18 for Tansey instead.  Or it could just be Draper coming back into the fold - all of a sudden there's a huge depth to the squad.

ETA: Just realised Chow is suspended but he'll be pushed to get in that 18 again.
