Albion Rovers V Raith Rovers

Recommended Posts

Frankly, that was pish from us in the final third and we've left ourselves down here badly. We'd like resilient in the last few games but it was an utter cluster f**k at the back. It's easy to blame the pitch but our players really needed to do more. We need to do a lot better in our upcoming games.

To take one point from six at Cliftonhill is pretty shite. Just hope we don't look back at days like today and the first game later on. Robbo was a huge miss for us today. We need to drop Buchanan and give Spence a run.

Bobby Barr... :P GUIY !

Deserved point for the home team absolutely robbed after the ref gave a by kick after a goal bound shot was saved and pushed over the bar - unbelievable.
Best we've played for a while. Alan Trouten is different class at this level.

Doesn't make a difference swapping strikers if Smith persists with exactly the same tactics. Long ball after long ball into the box is absolutely brutal to watch.

The end of the match was just a complete lack of games management by both the players and Smith. Vaughan was once again being a greedy twat and should have been taken off with McKay on to shut up shop.

Finally the less said about Thomson the better.

I know Albion Rovers fans will dispute it, but I'm confident any highlights will show Lennox was nowhere near the ball that hit the bar. I was on the terrace behind the goal and the referee got it spot on.

He did have some really strange calls for both sides. Furtado dragging the ball back to beat his man, before getting hauled down only for the referee to play on in advantage for the home team.

He got the big call right which was Thomson hauling down your player at the end. Utter madness from our defence. Pretty sure that was your first shot of the second half too.

Nope Barr was pish as usual moaning wee git that he is. The penalty at the end was farcical but they should have had one early in the game. How the ref or linesman can't see the defender passing the ball back to the keeper in the 6 yard box is beyond laughable. Buchanan was utter dross and should have been hooked at half time for Spence. They controlled the second half but instead of doing the simple things on that pitch they tried too much. Simple and basic playing the way you face and getting the ball into the box early from wide was the obvious tactic to play with that pitch. Amateur grade pitch, disgusting three toilets, and looking for a reduced rate for restricted viewing in the main stand.[emoji106]

Bobby Barr had an interesting afternoon.

Telling the Rovers fans to shut the f**k up with about 15 minutes to go, then appearing to gesture to folk from the stand to come and see him on the park at full-time.

Albion Rovers have only won about eight points at home this season, and half of them have been against us.

We were pretty poor again today, and this Vaughan in midfield scenario is madness.

It’s fine as a stopgap out of necessity, but playing Matthews in there and Vaughan up top with Buchanan dropping out would give us far more balance.

Alternatively, dropping Barr, who’s been poor for weeks, and getting Vaughan out wide again, a position he plundered plenty of goals from in the early part of the season, would be preferable.

Or we could just do exactly the same again next week and toil against another part-time team.

Stating the obvious but really hope Robertson isn’t out too long, he makes a massive difference to us in the middle of the park.

If he isn’t available we don’t have a middle of the park.

Fair play to the folk who travelled through. 1 point from two trips to Coatbridge is rubbish.  Our away form in general is also rubbish. Barry should get on the blower to Dick ‘dick’ Campbell to find out how to win away games.
