Is it possible that this 'Grand Slam' has been thought up just to fit round Inverness's achievements?

A lucky coincidence.

We haven't actually completed the Grand Slam - we were runners up in the seaside league in 1999.  We did win promotion so it's a lesser Slam, a great achievement but not a full Slam.

Sadly, Dundee are only the Seaside League short of the Grand Slam.

If the SFL (RIP) hadn't been so incompetent as to only deduct us 25 points, we would have had a shot at it. b*****ds.

Full list of Grand Slam winners

Falkirk - Seaside league winners 1980, Challenge Cup winners (1994, 1998, 2005, 2012), bottom six champions (2007 and 2008), league cup runners up 1948

I'm taking seaside league as the second division post 1975 restructure.  A strict intrepetation would be that the seaside league is the post 1994 third tier, which means that no club has completed the full Grand Slam

there's a few teams who are near a slam

As mentioned ICT and Dundee need to win the seaside league.

Ross County and Hamilton Accies only need a league cup final defeat.

Rangers need to finish 7th in the Premiership and lose a league cup final, I'm sure Stevie G has this as one of his main targets.

In which case we are nearly at a lesser slam as well.

We were promoted as runners-up to Ayr United from the old Second Division when there were three leagues in 1988. We have been league cup runners up in 1970 and 1999. We won the Challenge Cup in 2008.

This Saturday we can complete the coveted Lesser Slam by beating Ross County and overturning Motherwell's two goal advantage to seal the Bottom Six Championship.

Fucking hell, it was already a huge game for us to seal the Championship, but this puts it onto a whole new level.

Final update of the season- in 1000 sims Thistle finished 11th 80% of the time and County 20%.

Bet 365 paying 3/1 on County to win and Thistle to not double which seems about right including over round.
