Queens v Morton

Recommended Posts

Going to be a long wait for this game but it is a crucial game ..

This could either make or break our season .

Morton are in great form probable playing them at the wrong time.

Hopefully we can get our injured players back really need to have a strong squad for the game.

I just hope Naysmith keeps it simple no fancy set up just a straight forward  4-4-2 .

Your manager was really pissed off with your performance yesterday so expecting your squad to have a tough 2 weeks training and get a good reaction. Where you as bad as he made out?

We generally do quite well down there so should be a decent game.

Hopefully a positive result in the cup for us next week and head into this one on a run of 4 victories and a team full of confidence.

What would be your starting 11?

Only lost once on the road all season. If our home form was half as good as our away form we’d probably be sitting second at the moment. Expect this to be a very tough match.

You'd think that, but we actually have 17 points at home and 17 points away!

We have still won more games at home than on the road this season.

Hasn’t realised that at all  I suppose it’s more down to the fact we’ve gifted so many points to teams at Cappielow whereas on the road we’ve always looked more comfortable.

We've played two more games at Cappielow though. While we're on a good run of results at the moment, if we don't markedly improve our defending from Saturday's clown-car showing at the back then we'll be taking a heavy defeat in the near future.

We looked good today and should go into this full of confidence.

4 wins on the bounce with the  same starting 11, 10 goals scored, 2 conceded.

Did Queens play a bounce game today?

Not as far as I know. Will be interesting to see how many changes Naysmith executes.

Morton will be full of confidence going into this game.

Won their last 4 games a big Cup Tie to look forward to we are just the opposite have no real form going into the game  .

Everything points to a Morton win which sadly I think they will get.

We are Dobbie that is it we have nothing else he can't do it all himself.

Our away record has been very good so that's not necessarily going to be an issue. Morton generally seem to play better when opposition sides attack and leave space - before the signing of Ross at least, it has been the matches against stuffy opposition at home or against the bottom-feeders that the team has struggled with.

Similar to our game against Dunfermline last week, this is a match in which the home side needs the points more to boost their play-off chances. With games in hand and a trip to Dumbarton next midweek, we're pretty well-placed to get back into the play-off spots anyway. On current form the Morton team certainly won't be apprehensive about this match, but I think that our run of four straight wins will probably end here.

Both teams to score seems like the best bet.

In contrast we're due to have 6 of our next 8 at home (though the postponement of the Falkirk game due to their cup progress may change that depending where it's rearranged for).

In theory having 8 of our last 13 games at home, and the away games including trips to Dumbarton and Brechin, should mean we are well placed. In practice like Morton, our away form has been better than our home form this season. We need to up the home form for the last three months if we are to make the playoffs. Head to heads with Morton, Dunfermline, Inverness and Livingston are likely to be crucial. All four have to come to Palmerston and we still have to go back to Morton and Dunfermline again also. Big fortnight ahead for us. 6 points would put us in a great position. 4 points is decent enough. 3 will leave us precarious and not winning either game would be a big blow at this stage.
