Peterhead Vs Montrose

Recommended Posts

Sincerely hope we've learnt our lessons from our match at end of December. We've dropped cheap points between then and now against Cowden and Clyde and by all accounts were lucky to beat Edinburgh away.

If we can recreate second half performance from last weekend v Stirling we stand a chance. Still think Peterhead have the stronger squad so if we make similar mistakes to the 6-2 I'd expect them to capitalise again.

Tough Saturday afternoon in store.

Mon the Mo!

lucky to get a draw at Balmoor last time out, in what was a very poor game on a rainy, gale-swept day.

hope the fans see a better game tomorrow and a good Montrose performance. Don't agree that this is decisive, though. Peterhead would be runaway favourites but for their habit of chucking in the odd bizarre defeat.

a draw would be fine but no reason why we shouldn't be going there looking for all three points. Peterhead are a very good team but we have been better on the road than at home this season.

Surely Petrie has done his homework since last time and the Mo will give a much better account of themselves. Can't fault McInally for doing his research. Allegedly cheering Clyde goals when last at Links Park on a field trip: hope that's the only cheer he'll derive from his compo that day.

Must be tempting to defend tight and hit on the break but would like the Mo to rip into them from the start and not pay them too much respect when they try it on physically.

This time Petrie has to have the better tactics and the team needs to play to its potential, since even having played a tough away game midweek and picking up injuries in the process, the opposition will be hard to beat.

Fear no foe!

Solid performance from the Mo today. Getting back to what got us to the top of the table. Credit to SP who learned his lesson from the new year game and made sure we were hard to break down. Peterhead ran out of ideas and ended up humping high balls into the box, which we dealt with pretty comfortably. Sanny caused them problems all day and deserved his goal .. not the cleanest finish of his career but who cares! Steeves for me was our MOTM.

Excellent team performance today. Every Mo player, subs included, played their part.
Agree with above, Steeves was immense.
And a foot note. McAllister is a greeting faced twat. Fouling regularly but spits out the dummy when things don't go his way.

Difficult to disagree with most of that, certainly disappointing from our point of view, possibly 4 games in two weeks caught up with us today as although there was plenty effort we just seemed a wee bit of the pace. Think we do need a couple loans as could only muster 3 outfield subs today which along with going back to players having to play out of position did not make things easier. Looked to be another sloppy goal to concede but need to get on with the chase.

Great win for the Mo yesterday battled the 90mins away to get the result.Big Templeman gets his stick from time to time but yesterday was a masterclass to what he is all about caused peterhead all sorts of problems.Hold up play was tremendous and he won everything in the air rolling back the years sanny was.

Rory McAlister is a class act no doubt about it but was great to get one over him and his ripped shirt at the end summed his day up....delightful

Poor show from us, huffed and puffed but just not quite got enough where it counted. As others have said a few games in a short period may be catching up with us and injuries are not helping. We always struggle to break down teams though and Mo defended with plenty of bodies back so we were always going to struggle. Willie Gibson going mental at McLean for being a 'lazy c*nt' was a highlight (and he wasn't wrong).
