Scott Bain was dropped by us, couldn't get in at Hibs and now he's joined Celtic, people are saying he should be called up.

To be fair, there was hardly an opportunity for him to get a game at Hibs. He was only in the team for about six hours, and he wasn't allowed to play in the Dundee game anyways.

He did do an excellent job while he was here, though. Just having him sit there, being a threat to Marciano's job security focused Rocky's mind wonderfully, and he's pulling roughly 2 wonder saves per game so far this calendar year...

It doesn't really matter who the third choice goalkeeper is, it's not like they are going to have to play. You'd be better picking someone who's good at jokes, impressions, or amusing the squad by making balloon animals, than worrying about whether your third choice goalkeeper is actually good at goalkeeping.

Why don't we just call up a fan every game? We could have a competition for every home match, after all, we probably won't use the 25th man in the squad so we're as well giving it to someone who will have the time of their life.

Or we could pick a young and upcoming players who are likely to be in future squads rather than picking 26 year olds who aren't, nor will be, good enough to play for Scotland.

I quite like the idea of selecting a fan. And if he ends up having to play due to an injury crisis, he'd still probably be better than Chris Iwelumo.

Given some of the candidates under consideration, I'd be up for appointing a fan as manager, too.

Lol.  Our third choice for the last ten plus years varied between marshall and McGregor, both of whom have loads of caps.  Do you people know anything about football lol.

26 is young for a keeper.

Coming through yeah probably.  That's why he's at Celtic.

Mate, he literally couldn't get a game for Dundee and they've loaned him to anyone who wants him. Celtic have their number 1 out injured, their sub keeper looks about as reliable as a chocolate watch and their youth keeper is out on loan. If Craig Gordon was fit they wouldn't have been anywhere near Scott Bain, just like Scott Bain should be nowhere near Scotland.
