You mention the Armageddon speech then Celtic despite us voting against Sevco being allowed further up the leagues,a bit thick really.

No - an observation at your club's tendency to wallow in any form of tragedy and make it all about them.

Seems there is a lot of backing for Jackie McNamara. Former Old Firm player, football manager and currently chief executive of York City so ticks a lot of boxes.

He also boxes a lot of ticks.

County chairman in the papers today calling for the SFA/SPFL to amalgamate into one organisation. It makes sense to me, having two separate organisations running the game seems counter intuitive. Never happen mind, too many blazers would lose their jobs so they'll never vote for it.

There aren't any. People talk about SFA as if it's all "blazers" in "committees" but in actual fact the only committees that still exist are specialist ones on club licensing, refereeing, and medical.

Everything else is exercised by the SFA Board (CEO, 2 office bearers, 2 SPFL reps, 1 Amateur FA rep, 2 external directors) or by its pro-game sub-board (CEO, 1 staff member, 2 office bearers, 5 SPFL reps, 1 HL, 1 LL)... Given that Rod Petrie is from an SPFL club; and his successor as VP when he becomes President will almost certainly be the same; and the Board appoints the CEO, staff, and external directors, it's already overwhelmingly SPFL dominated.

Many would be far from convinced about merging SFL+SPFL into a "Scottish Football Federation" anyway, given SFA is already very heavily dominated by SPFL and that domination is in turn very heavily concentrated in half-a-dozen hands. At least a separation of responsibility can act as a system of checks and balances. Without it'd we'd probably have 10-team SPL, Rangers into SFL1, etc.

Unless there are major changes to the structure it wont matter who the CEO is,  we had a football man in Gordon Smith but he soon found out it was near impossible to get anything done .

The clubs could change things if they wanted but self preservation is the name of the game!

Gordon Smith is one of the most despicable Individuals in all the world.

The only thing worse than someone who can't be described as a "football man" is one that can.

This. Didn’t realise quite how thick he was until I heard him on sportsound the other week.

What qualifications did he have to get that role within the SFA....

Reportedly the 'other 3' will get their CEO pick:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43098581

Former Hearts and Hibernian player Stewart told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound: "For the president to come out and introduce the new manager as a mate for years, and having been the chairman of his testimonial committee, is just staggering.

"The lack of awareness in that organisation is beyond belief and I've never been so angry, and it's not Alex McLeish because I hope that he goes on and does a good job. Where is the strategic planning?

"They've now effectively said that the chief executive role is almost immaterial because they've made the big call without them.

"Let's be honest, we all hear the chat, we're all in the industry. And the talk is that we know there's a split board at the SFA. The chat is that Rod Petrie and Alan McRae have got their man, and in return the other faction are going to be allowed to get the chief executive. That's not for the betterment of Scottish football. That is politicking. And it is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned."

Ian Maxwell of Partick Thistle has quit SFA Board today but is tipped to immediately return as new SFA CEO.

Neil Doncaster takes his vacated seat on SFA Board.

So Cockwomble joins the SFA cabal. Another reason to prove our game is in the gutter.

I wouldn't have a problem with us promoting from within if we were doing a good job, I can see why continuity in that sense would be a good thing. But, when you've continually failed to help the National team to a tournament, chastised fans and told them Armageddon is on the way, oversaw some of the worst appointments in Scotland's history and fail to get the manager you're after and plumping for someone who had the job previously despite an apparent "long list of good candidates" then it becomes ridiculous that change isn't forced.

We'll be stuck with these fucking melts for eternity and nothing will change. It's absolutely  staggering that Doncaster is being promoted to the SFA board. I genuinely don't have a clue how we can sit back and allow c***s like that to take home a fucking superb wage for doing the square root of f**k all. Lets fucking riot.
