From where the ref was he had same view as camera and couldnt possibly have seen anything . There did not appear any contact whatsoever but was in keeping with the standard of refereeing throughout which was really poor. Missed a red for stewart for poor tackle in second half . However points for Mr McCall to consider 1. Goalie - looks no better than Hart , an embarassment . Is Andy Leishman from Auchinleck Talbot not an option . 6' 5" built like a shithouse and great shot stopper and would cost nothing . 2. David Ferguson - Not good enough for this level , poor defender , distribution awful , lacks confidence and didnt even jump at Alloa goal 3 3. Boyle - going through the motions , needs a kick up the backside 4. Bell - Division 2 player at best 5. Forrest - anonymous in most games , not strong enough , poses no threat , lets try McGuffie 6. Ross Stewart Alloa centre forward - wanted to sign for Ayr at least twice but McCall didnt fancy him ???. Mmmmmmm ! tore your defence to shreds yesterday . ! 7. Moore needs to play with Shankland and Moffat next week . need the strength and guile . 8. Did we not scout or do any homework on Alloa before game ? . Why put Reid against a guy a foot taller , we should know this before a game !!Adams should have started at centre half Shudder to think what the score will be next Sunday but in McCalls own words he doesnt care about the cup tie ??????? No-one tore anything to shreds yesterday. We lost a goal from a set piece and a defensive howler. And to suggest centre forward is where our problems lie is frankly laughable. Ro Sham Bo
Didn't think anyone would actually take that on, let alone with a few minutes. I'm hoping it's a whoosh within a whoosh. It is, isn't it? It's not.
Ro Sham Bo
The standard of footballer in this league is dreadful. It’s basically 10 teams competing to be the least shite. Based only on Rovers matches and highlights of a few Ayr games over the season so far, some of the defending and goalkeeping on display is absolutely awful. That Alloa winner and our 3rd goal against Queens Park yesterday were two perfect examples. God knows what goings on occur in the matches involving the other sides. I am not suggesting centre forward is a problem but neither Shankland or Moffat are out and out strikers , both prefer playing behind one and they are very good at it . If Shankland had pace he would not be with Ayr. We had the chance to sign Stewart a couple of times and I think he is a young player with potential as he clearly showed on Saturday but McCall doesnt fancy him so thats fine , hes the manager . You cannot defend our goalie or defence this year , they have been rotten and only the forwards scoring for fun have pulled us out a hole many times . Even the Queens Park game last week , the score completely flattered Ayr as it could and should have been 4 each ! It was not a good performance . printer
From where the ref was he had same view as camera and couldnt possibly have seen anything . There did not appear any contact whatsoever. Very simplistic view. I suppose that's par for the course.1 The ref sees things in 3d. It's a different view. 2 You can't see what contact there is or isn't - it's on the blindside of Parry.3 The lino would probably have had a very good view of any contact. He may well have told the ref there was a push via his ear piece.4 Do you SERIOUSLY think the ref gave a foul but didn't see one?5 McCall is a lying idiot. Bear that in mind. It's only some Ayr fans to be fair, but if you take into account the previous 2 games this season were really close, and our recent record at Somerset (5 undefeated now)- it wasn't a seismic shock by any means. Some of the manic depression about the result, the opposition and their team overall is a bit much. For the disallowed goal, from my viewpoint it looked like there was a slight nudge on Parry- keepers are universally over protected in these instances as a general rule. D'Jaffo
Sorry mate , the defence were run ragged by Stewart yesterday . Adams coped a bit better in second half . Football is all about opinions Ross Stewart wouldn’t get in our team. He’s a good striker but certainly didn’t tear our defence apart. I’d also say Shanklands got a bit of pace and the reason that he’s playing for us is because he’s was awful last year and written off by a lot of managers apart from McCall who’s shown that he’s willing to give guys a chance when no one else really wants them. Football is all about opinions but let’s make sure that they are actually worth considering and not complete drivel.
