Midnight Runner
Was looking forward to catch up on how Peebles progressing in 2018 and see from FB game off ???- I checked Edin Leisure and they said playable yesterday and we've had good drying conditions in town since, this reeks of wanting to preserve the pitch for more 'important' games ahead, I'll guarantee rematch will be midweek at ridiculous time again as Peebles always seemed to get rough edge on these decisions - very disappointed
HibeeJibee
Tbf, even if it did end-up midweek it wouldn't be at a silly time as Saughton has floodlights. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious with Saughton: on paper it's going to be hosting games almost every Saturday + Wednesday from next weekend to the end of the season, as the following list shows. That said some of them - e.g. Tynecastle league games - could be played after April 28th as they aren't in the title-race:http://eosfl.com/content.php?pg=fixtureslge&pd=1045Sat 03 Feb LTHV v Burntisland Wed 07 Feb LTHV v Vale of Leithen (EQC SF) Sat 10 Feb Tynecastle v Kelty Wed 14 Feb LTHV v Kelty (LC SF) Sat 17 Feb Tynecastle v Ormiston Wed 21 Feb Sat 24 Feb Tynecastle v Tweedmouth Wed 28 Feb Tynecastle v LTHV Sat 3 Mar LTHV v Ormiston Wed 7 Mar LTHV v Leith (KC R1) Sat 10 Mar Wed 14 Mar Sat 17 Mar LTHV v Tynecastle (Groundhop) Wed 21 Mar Sat 24 Mar Tynecastle v Eyemouth/Coldstream (KC R2) Wed 28 Mar Sat 31 Mar LTHV v Eyemouth Wed 4 AprSat 7 Apr LTHV v Preston [or] Tynecastle v Coldstream Wed 11 Apr (ESC Final) Sat 14 Apr (KC SF) Wed 15 Apr Sat 21 Apr Wed 25 Apr Sat 28 Apr No dates LTHV v Preston [or] Tynecastle v Coldstream LTHV v Kelty LTHV v Leith LTHV v Tweedmouth Tynecastle v Eyemouth Tynecastle v Peebles LTHV v ?? (KC SF) [if progress + drawn at home) LTHV themselves, in terms of home-n-away games, will also be playing almost every Saturday + Wednesday from next weekend if they can progress in the cups:http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?/topic/247696-lowland-trapdoorwatch-2017-18/&page=4&tab=comments#comment-11906082 It happens almost every season though so it's nothing unusual... combination of the pitch suffering a lot of postponements, 2 clubs groundsharing on it, and both of them (but LTHV especially) being very handy in the cups. From early April the council also chuck local youth finals onto it every night of the week (occasionally 2 in 1 night) and sometimes Sunday womens games as well. Illustration is there are 14 Saturdays from today to April 28th, including 3 King Cup rounds - only clubs with more than 11 league games left are LTHV (15) & Tynecastle (14). Pink Flag
The point is though, Edinburgh Leisure declare the pitch playable on the Friday morning. The whole of Friday afternoon is dry and bright with decent temperature for the time of year. Tiny amount of rain overnight and nine forecast for the afternoon of the match. The pitch is simply not unplayable so what’s the motive for saying it is? Very poor from the home side

Midnight Runner
That’s my thinking Pink Flag, rumour has it Tynie struggling for a team which would be surprising, does anyone know if clubs suspect foul play can they insist on referee attending and make the decision ‘independent’ decision? Midnight Runner
I see Peebles and HWatt had a very sensible approach to pitch inspection on Sat - actually waited til 12pm before letting ref make decision- Hutchy & Tynecastle take note when teams reasonably local,! PS outside big 5 can Peebles be Best of the rest???
