This one was always outside their jurisdiction, being a Junior Cup game that comes under the SJFA's auspices.

The real strange ones were them pulling the Troon v Peasy game which was evidently playable, but allowing the Vics v Saltcoats game to go ahead if indeed it does.

And here's Winton Park at 8.30 this morning, yet the club told last night game was off.

Seeing that, it looks like they've jumped the gun in pulling them all - there were never going to be many games on today, but as always, the teams that play on the coast at least have a fighting chance of getting their games on.

Why did they tell clubs to put games off and not leave it upto the clubs and ref inspections to decide?

I dunno - I suppose the logic was that all travel will be that bit more difficult, and given the week we've had anything around the Glasgow area and the inland parts of Ayrshire never had a hope in hell of being on...seems a bit unfair on the coastal teams not to give them the option to at least try though.

Do the nets stay up ? If not why are they up before 8 30 when the game is off?

The goals and nets are always put up the day before (saves any hassle on match day). The pitch was in perfect condition on Friday, even with the bad weather and forecast. There was no reason to believe the game would be off, barring a large dump of snow.

The nation has went soft , drive a bit more carefully and get wrapped up and game on , instead it seems to be any excuse to call games off these days , American football is the best and is played in all conditions , how do their fans travel to games when it gets a bit snowy ?

Special shoutout to the fans of the Buffalo Bills who appear to have evolved immunity to temperatures that would kill most of us:
