Wee Rovers AGM - Boardroom coup d`etat ?

Recommended Posts

Rumours out there that there will be an attempt to oust  Albion Rovers Chairman Ronnie Boyd at the Club`s AGM on Thursday. Boyd who originally joined the BOD  as Supporters Trust representative took over as Chairman when seven other Directors baled out in  2016, leaving a financial mess, which resulted  in Boyd making an appeal to shareholders and fans for loans / donations to keep the club going until the end of 2016/7 season when radical cost cutting could be implimented. It is understood the `plotters` consist of one current and several former chairmen /directors - one of whom is currently a Director / CEO of another SPFL club and it is believed that they are backed by the club`s largest shareholder - an SPFL senior executive . This is the same guy who blocked a suggestion for a  further share issue to raise capital for the club at the last AGM.  What must also be a worry for Rovers fans is the presence of a former Airdrie chairman and SFA big wig  lurking in the background.

How old is he now?
Hope you dont suffer that fate.   Know Ronnie well and definitely better the devil you know
Boyd is the angel to Peat's devil. Ronnie can be trusted to do the right thing for the Rovers, if it's within his power. Others have selfish agendas - we've seen them come and go over the decades. I'm intrigued to know who are the conspirators within the boardroom and those who previously were at Cliftonhill?

George Peat is, and pretty much always has been a minor Rovers shareholder.

Returning to his first love !!!!

I remember an artice in the press when Airdrie were flying high where he stated that the Rovers was the first team he supported.

I remember him doing an interview for the Tizer after Airdrie went bust and said it was all Rovers fault for not selling Cliftonhill and groundsharing at Excelsior. Bit of a deflection tbh of his hand in seeing the old Airdrie put the game.
