A bad day for us.  It looked as if we were going to blow Accies away but then it all went wrong.  Over the piece they were slightly the better side and deserved to win.  The referee awarded them a soft penalty but denied us 2 better shouts.  He also let Accies off the hook twice in the first half for cynical fouls.  Still, thats papering over deeper cracks.  Very few decent performances with perhaps Tanner being the pick  of the bunch.   Despite what had gone on before Hartley was stupid after the final whistle and as an experienced pro he should have known better.  We didn't seem to have any Plan A never mind a Plan B.

We'll regroup next month and I think Accies will face a very different team in the cup tie.

Really enjoyed that! It wasn’t pretty at times but again the team showed it’s got real character and team spirit. In Imrie, MacKinnon and Doherty we have some real leaders who keep the rest going when things aren’t going so well. Great accies support too and nice to see the players come across to celebrate at the end [emoji122][emoji108]

The Celtic trilogy being the reason for Wells poor form has got to be the stupidest excuse I’ve ever heard.  Less Louis Moult more like.

Bit simplistic.

For example- Moult’s absence doesn’t explain how a team who conceded just 15 goals in 13 league games which included 5 clean sheets before the cup final, has conceded 17 goals and has no clean sheets in the 8 games that have followed.

Of course Moult’s absence has played it’s part, we went from having the best non Celtic striker in the country to having probably amongst the worst selection of strikers in the league.

Bowman is our ‘main man’ just now and he’s scored just 2 goals(in 15 games) since September and looks utterly devoid of confidence. Likewise Alex Fisher who hasn’t managed a single goal for us yet. Newell looks like he might have a bit of something about him, however he’s a young lad who  doesn’t look ready to be relied upon at this level. Petravicius seems to have disappeared and I’m not surprised, all the pace in the world won’t change the fact he looked out his depth at this level.

Tanner seems to be the one bright light in terms of stepping up in Moult’s absence but the rest have been found wanting. Chuck in the fact our central midfield sans Campbell has returned to the powderpuff shambles we saw last season and the defence is being held together by two guys who are nowhere near fit then it’s no surprise things have went tits up for us.

January is going to be a massive month for Robinson, he needs to get his signings right and the two games against Accies in the cup and bottom of the league Ross County when we get back look positively season defining.

^^^ This. All of it.

Edit to add: take Cadden and Frear out our team and you remove the two players who create our chances. So not only has our top scorer been out, the two players who supply the forwards have been injured as well.

Cadden and Frear - 4 assists, 1 goal

Tait and Tanner - 9 assists, 6 goals.
