Evidently the Scotland-Wales game was brought forward to avoid clashing with the European Cup Final (England v Northern Ireland was on the Tuesday night). Why they wouldn't have gone for the Wednesday, avoiding 2 games in 3 days, I'm not sure. It was the Cup-Winners' Cup Final between Anderlecht and West Ham Utd on the Wednesday; was it on TV and they didn't want a clash?

Maybe. Scotland played Wales at Hampden the night Rangers won the Cup Winners Cup, perhaps that had caused some disputes the SFA didn't want repeated?

Yep: 3-game tour of Canada in 1983 after British Home Championship concluded.

Games were played on Sunday 12th (Vancouver), Thursday 16th (Edmonton) and Sunday 19th (Toronto).

Think that'll be the last 'test series' Scotland ever played.

We played Montrose on consecutive evenings in 1995.

A 1-1 draw at Scapa followed by a 3-2 defeat at Links, where David Wylie was sent off.  We had no other registered keeper at the time. We managed to re-find Andre Boe in time for our next league game but had we won the replay we would not have been able to use him in the next round due to registration rules - probably forcing us to play an outfield player in goal.

Not quite SPFL football, but I can't ignore Guernsey FC in this topic. As a condition to be accepted into an English league, they are not allowed to play any home games on a weekday. However, when they were in the Combined Counties League Premier in season 2012/13, many of their games got postponed. This was due to a bad winter in Guernsey and cup runs. As a result, there were several consecutive weekends that they were playing games on Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, usually followed by having to fly to England for away games on Tuesdays and sometimes even Thursdays as well.

Amazingly, they still got enough points to clinch promotion.
