That was the point my father made many years ago - "Hogmanay isn't what it was, folk can have a Hogmanay every week now".

Not the biggest fan of Hogmanay, prefer a session on New Years Day to watch the football and racing with my mates. Me and the Mrs have a party night which is fine as the people running it allow everyone to bring their kids along and put entertainment and food on for them while we have a few drinks, then a live band come on about 11pm for a couple of hours
