Saints first half , second half Dunfermline edged it. Clearly we need a hard man in the middle of the park so glad to hear one is in bound in January.
Dunfermline are without doubt the hammer throwers of the division very physical side what happened to the free flowing football you played in our first game. You are not a bad side and should make the play off's easily.

Hammer throwers? Have you not been to Inverness yet?

Half right.

Saints first half, second half Dunfermline bossed it.

Strangely inept second half from us. Dunfermline showed a commitment that we lacked. We rode our luck and Dunfermline's poor finishing let us off the hook.

Phew !

Yep. Although aside from Dunfermline missing a free header down Sammys throat that either side would be a goal, they didn't really trouble us on the box.

St Mirren actually committed more fouls. That we ended up with more yellows is on Charleston. Think Higginbotham and McManus were both in danger of a second yellow but Eckerskey should have had two himself and there were also two Saints players who ran after the ref after he gave us a foul with about 10 minutes to go who weren't even spoken to. It was a hard game with 2 committed sides but both sides were guilty of some bad challenges (McManus on Eckerlsey before his kick out, Morris on Smith (?) was pretty cynical, but Morgan also went over the ball on Talbot and Eckerlsey went in hard with 2 feet from behind on Higginbotham) rather than it being all down to us having a physical approach. It's weird though. Some Dundee Utd fans said the same after the game up there where there were barely any tackles in the game let alone bad ones.

5 bookings to nil suggest hammer throwers and three sending offs in three games against us suggest that too.

As for play offs, two wins(part timers Brechin, Queens Park) in twelve suggest  play offs but maybe not the one you suggested....

Aye right. The stats may show that Charleston awarded more fouls against St Mirren than Dunfermline. Not the same as committing more fouls. Utterly incompetent display by a very poor official. Clueless and blind ???

What a pussy Declan McManus is !! More than happy to dish it out and cries to the ref when things go against him. No class.

Williamson dived. Let's not kid around here, it was never a penalty. However, the ref made an absolute mess of it. Looked like a rabbit in the headlights, asked the lino to bail him out, eventually gives the penalty and then, after a long discussion with said lino, decides it's a dive and reverses the call. If you're having to think about it in the first place, probably best to just say goal kick and move on.

Thought we played ok today and certainly far better than in recent weeks. Still really struggled to create a lot of chances, although Clark's free header and Aird's last minute chance should both have been scored. Was very surprised to see Saints punting the ball into the corners at the end, frantically wasting time. We're not that good guys, it was hardly the kitchen sink getting thrown at you. Pars showed me enough to suggest we haven't given up completely but they need a few wins very badly, just to get confidence levels up if nothing else.

Absolutely no justification for Paton and Aird not starting against Brechin. Cardle and Higgy were both awful - again. So frustrating to see these guys have to wait until the final 5/10 mins because AJ refuses to change things around until it's almost too late to make a difference.

Gavin Reilly was absolutely shite and missed two sitters. His team got the three points though, so I'm guessing he won't really care too much.

After the pen incident we never got a decision

Never said it wasn't a dive. Also said Higginbotham was lucky not to get a second yellow. And he is a bit of an arsehole. But St Mirren should also have had a few players booked and the game was between two committed teams overseen by one of the worst refs in the country. Disagree with any of that?

Now come on, is that not just sour grapes, or have you not got over last week's trouncing?

Because that’s what you do when you take a years wages and don’t do your job, you get it right up the punters you ripped off?

Fair play.

Granted Reilly was poor for Dunfermline but that happens with certain players at certain clubs.

He's in a rich vein of form just now and St Mirren are benefiting greatly. Fair play to Reilly and St Mirren.

How was Mullen?

He came on late in the game when we were pretty much holding on to a single goal advantage, and struggling to regain any control of the game second half.  He managed one or two touches but not in the game enough to make a fair judgement of his capabilities.

A decent game marred by arguably the worst referee performance since we moved to the ground.

We bossed most of the first half, but always felt the Pars were dangerous on the counter. The opening of the second half was fairly even, but Para dominated the final 20 minutes and really should have scored (was it Aird?).

The booking for Murdoch is as clear cut a red card as you will see all weekend. How he deduced it was a yellow I have no idea.

Decent goal from us. Cammy Smith though:wub:

From where I was the Pars “penalty” didnt look like one. The linesman had no fucking clue and the ref guessed it when he gave it. Not a scooby how they changed their mind, but, and bare in mind I haven’t seen it back yet, it appeared to be the correct decision one way or the other.

What has happened at Dunfermline? Pars fans? Over the last two seasons they are the team that has impressed me most live. They were very poor in that first half. Whilst they doninated possession towards the end of the game, it wasn’t the all out assault I expected to come.

I did think Williamson was very decent today, particularly first half.
