All those dirty, Pars-supporting, glory hunters

I can't believe you're directly involved with running a football club. Can you just admit you're a fantastic WUM so everyone doesn't assume you're clinically insane?

The season Cowden were relegated though had Rangers, Hearts and Hibs in the Division rather stronger than this season's opposition. Cowden didn't have any more advantage in timing than any other side - it's stretching a point to try and suggest they had some good fortune e.g. Dunfermline overspending had disadvantaged Cowden unfairly for years given it attracted some fans to watch success at EEP rather than watch or begin to follow Cowden. In 2012/13 they won points against every team in the League except Partick (albeit 2-1 ahead v Jags and dominating match at home that was controversially abandoned in fog). In 2013/14 Cowden beat every team in the League apart from QOS.

Cowden dealt with a stronger top end undeniably but the relegated sides tend to get their points and wins against the sides closest to them, not the top ones. If you are going to lose all games against the top three then it doesnt really matter whether its Rangers, Hearts and Hibs or St Mirren, Dundee Utd and Livingston.

I dont think its remotely stretching a point to suggest the financial crisis that saw Dunfermline and Livingston deducted points while you were up here is a factor in your survival. As was Morton's complete melt down. On the contrary its stretching credibility to suggest it didnt.

Brechin have had none of those breaks. Still it is also the case that Cowdenbeath then were simply better, particularly up front, than Brechin are now. When you have a regular scoring threat there is always a chance of winning games. Brechin havent really had that all season.

Celebrations that lasted all of five minutes, before your tear-stained fans and permaraging, greaseball of a manager rushed to print T-shirts whining about The Famous.

How on earth would you know what celebrating promotion to the top division is like?

Look at the respective defensive records. Excluding Brechin themselves, us Bairns have the stand out comedy defence in the league. In all seriousness, I don’t think there’s a team in the country that would find it an impossible task to score against us.

On that basis, Brechin need to be a bit braver than they have been up to now. If they can get ahead, then who knows. Of course, pushing an extra player forward might well make things easier for Yak, Sibbs and King Louis, but surely to God they have to give it a go against a defence that would be hard pushed to keep a Sunday League team at bay.

Us and Dumbarton represent Brechin’s last rock solid chances of winning a game. Sitting in and trying to hold out for a 0-0 is (deservedly) going to fail.

I wholeheartedly agree with this.  We should be playing with  all our attacking options for the rest of the season and give every team something to think about. Shooting on sight should be a minimum requirement of every outfield player.

There's a crushing inevitably about this

Yep, mentioned it on another thread. Don’t have your sense of it being the monster coming over the hill, but your manager plus away to Brechin plus midweek, and maybe a few planets  really are starting to align.

What this thread / Brechin really needs is for somebody to give the the "yer p**h, can't wait to see us smashing in double figures against your shitey pub team" type post.

Pessimism seems to be king here. It needs to stop.
