Good performance from us but Dunfermline were pretty horrible.

Dobbie

He was outstanding today, worthwhile going along to just to see him play when he is in that form. The big mystery is why Dobbie and Kane had never clicked before, they look the ideal partnership on paper. The energy of Kane, Stirling and Dykes with Dobbie pulling the strings was superb. That was the first time I've seen Kerr play, both the centre-halfs looked good but he is a real stand-out.

It also looked like a clear red card when Kane was through in the second half.

Best I’ve seen us play in ages. Pars didn’t really get going and in the first half played v us like we did v Livi a couple of weeks ago - disjointed and second to most things. Some very good passing and moving and the ball moved slickly saw Queens carve out some promising chances. Having said that Martin blocked well early on to stop Pars scoring. Stirling had a good game out wide and Kane scoring was unexpected. Two goal lead was well deserved at HT. Pars had there best spell for the 15 mins after the restart and scored quickly with a well worked move. Just when it looked Queens might start struggling, a mix up in the centre of the park about 25 yards out between defender and keeper presented Dobson with a shot at an unguarded goal. Dykes, who had a good game, drove into the box and was hauled down. Dobbie hit the net with this one. After that, it was plain sailing and Queens could have scored more than another two.
Well done players and manager! An unexpectedly grand day out.

Outstanding from us. Front to back. In any normal week there were half a dozen candidates for man of the match. Marshall seemed to be everywhere at the back clearing loose balls. His best game of the season. The much maligned midfield of Jacobs and Rankin absolutely dominated the Pars midfield. So much energy about them both. Stirling showed flashes of what he is capable of. Kane had his best game for us, burying the first calmly and really sharp to turn and fire in the second. Constant thorn in the flesh of Dunfermline's centre backs. All great candidates for MoM in normal circumstances.

These werent normal circumstances though. Sir Stephen Dobbie............. WOW !!!!!!

He hasnt really hit the heights of last season this year apart from fleetingly at Falkirk but today. Oh. My. Word. Utterly unplayable. At the heart of Kane's two goals. He beat Williamson four times alone in the build up to the second.  His own hat trick was actually secondary to his first half performance which was imperious. His first was rolled into an empty net after Jacobs effectively caught the keeper in possession outside his box. His second was a penalty after Dykes was sent flying in the box (no allowing Kane his hat trick at that point). His third was effectively a tap in.

99 and counting............

Nice way for Jordan Marshall and Darren Brownlie to celebrate their 100th games for us. Could easily have been more. Collum utterly bottled a clear red card in the second half. Marshall, Jacobs, Kerr, Rankin, Dobbie himself and Kane could all have added to the score. Well played to all. Hope they enjoy their Xmas weekend away. They earned it.

Guy is different class.

He's been struggling of late too.

He's been trying to do too much and nothing's been coming off.   Everyone knows what he's capable of though, so he gets shown patience.  If this can spark a run of good form for him, it'll mean we're well placed.

Hope I don't live to regret this but I have a good feeling about this weekend. Think we could be back in a playoff place. :-)

Feet up next to a blazing fire, feeling smug. Some folk need to have some faith.

Three goals coming from shocking defending by Williamson (including giving away the pen). He has regressed so badly from the start of the season.

Dobbie is genuinely a joy to watch. Glides into space without even trying. Unselfish as well as some of the balls he put in were top top class and should have been tap ins. What a fantastic example to young players in your squad to learn from and nice to see a player have an affinity with a proper (non Old Firm) football club.
