Sting777 Posted December 9, 2017 Share Posted December 9, 2017 That was a train wreck today with some of the defending bringing back memories of the likes of Bryan Purdie!! Jeez even Mr Reliabe (Cerny) had an absolute shocker. Guess he doesn't like playing on that surface as he has had a few howlers there. Our only hope is to hang on to the coat tails of one club (Hamilton, Ross, Dundee) and take our chances in the play offs. Think any jags fan would sign up for that right now, however on that evidence today we are miles off securing 11th place. One thing that must happen on Wednesday is either get Barton out the team or get him in at centre half where he excelled last year. He is totally lost in midfield! Sting777 Posted December 9, 2017 Share Posted December 9, 2017 Don't think I have seen a player regress as much as Keown has in the last 6 months. Could be that Liam Lindsay covered a lot more for him than we realised last season, however he was majestic in the air last season, even though he is on the small side for a CH. He looks like he has weights in his boots this season. We have got to get Barton back to centre defence on Wednesday as he is a total liability in midfield! Thistle4eva Posted December 9, 2017 Share Posted December 9, 2017 Keown has been shocking for ages, our centre halfs are the biggest panic merchants ever seen. Devine and Keown are both drawn to the ball and constantly dive in front of the same shots which leaves big gaps for opposing players.Barton calmed our defence down with his composure and ability to bring the ball out from the penalty area last season. He's absolutely useless in midfield. Our poorest area of the team is in the middle of the park playing 2 players who are out there depth together is completely pointless. If anything we should put an extra man in with Barton and Edwards and play 3 in the middle because we are contstantly over ran in there, between Edwards chasing butterflies around the park to Barton's I can't be fucked chasing back attitude it just doesn't work !
