Craig fae the Vale
Tomorrows Scottish Cup tie between Dyce & Irvine Meadow has been postponed for a 6th time. How many postponements are permitted before a switch is forced? It's getting out of hand
glensmad
How many postponements are permitted before a switch is forced? It's getting out of hand There is no rule which automatically switches the tie to the opposition ground after a certain number of postponements. When there are multiple postponements on the same day (as has been the case most Saturdays) then the home club is given a bit more leeway. It is only when there is a clear problem with a pitch in isolation that the SJFA enforce a change of venue, and that is usually to a neutral one. It is my understanding that Meadow had already made a pretty generous offer and been turned down. There are precedents for this already so it seems Dyce think they can progress by keeping it at home. Then temperatures are due to go minus right through until Saturday morning, when it's forecast to be a rainy day. I wouldn't put money on Ian Mair Park being playable, especially with the early notification Medda need. Meanwhile, Banks o' Dee were initially given a Home fixture (vs Inverness City) for Saturday 30th, then that disappeared off the North Region's website so the Spain Park plastic ought to be available. So come on Dyce, join the dots... From minus 5 up here on Friday afternoon it suddenly warmed up to +11 Friday evening !! Probably wouldn't have been enough for Dyce's own ground to become playable (my back garden isn't), but there's certainly no snow left on Banks o' Dee's plastic. I told you they should have shifted it there to get it played...
Ali_Wee_Jag
....and in the meantime, Dunbar Utd have no idea who we are away to in 3 Saturday’s time. 6th Jan (A) v Tranent Juniors. 13th Jan (A) v Fauldhouse. 20th Jan (A) v Dyce or Irvine Meadow but still no closer to a winner. Bet when they get that first game played it’s a draw!!!

Bet when they get that first game played it’s a draw!!! Girvan v Rutherglen Glencairn in the 4th round in 2014 was postponed 4 times at Girvan. The SJFA then ordered it to be moved to a neutral venue, so they chose Ardrossan and it was postponed there as well. In week 6 the SJFA ordered the game to be played at Largs. It went ahead, and surprise surprise it was a 2-2 draw. The replay at Rutherglen was postponed in weeks 7 and 8, and was finally played in week 9. Unsurprisingly, it was a draw again and went to sudden death penalties before Glencairn finally won. We lost the 5th round tie at home to Bo'ness United the following week (2-1).
