classof2010
and the final of the Sectional League cup as a pre-season game for 2018-19 I have no confidence that the league cup and evening times will be scrapped we gotta get the 3 rounds of Scottish played before end November to stop this Scottish cup takes precedence nonsense we have just now affecting the league how many games has glenafton played
theshed
Does anyone know what happens if this current round of Scottish cup ties spills over until the 23rd of December and if a west team whove opted to play a fixture that day have to travel to an east team who haven't requested a fixture ? For example crossgates v beith or hob v Talbot ? Would the east teams be told to fulfill that weeks fixture or be okay to bodyswerve it due to not originally wanting a game on the 23rd? Think they would be told to play as it's an SJFA fixture not an East or West one.

Very frustrating it really is , not much we can do about the weather but still think provisional fixtures should be in place to try and maximise games , more so with clubs like yourselves who have 3g/4g ; some teams will be sitting idle and other teams will be at a standstill with the Scottish cup regular call offs ; our game needs to be proactive with back up fixtures . Back in 2010/11 we were supposed to go to Tayport at the end of November, it was finally played in February and although our pitch was playable for a big chunk of that we only played one game in mid January. Even more so the North. Always has provisional fixtures for its Junior Cup participants. Easier with fewer still left in it when the weather turns of course, plus travel distance means call-offs are more likely to be made on the Friday for inter-regional ties, allowing time for Plan B local fixtures to be implemented. Nevertheless, good to see administrators proactively using common sense. Can't see that catching on in the West...

As I understand it, every Saturday will be used to clear up back log 3rd round Scottish ties. This includes 23rd and 30th of December. This means that teams who requested a free 23rd and 30th December, and have 3rd round ties to clear up, will be required to play on these dates. Ardenvohr6
Kudos to Dyce and Irvine Meadow (not forgetting the agreement of the SJFA)who have agreed to play their match on Saturday at Dyce or, if Dyce unplayable, Irvine, with decision delayed until Friday. It would be ironic if weather put paid to both options.

No mention of any such switch in Dyce's communication, just the usual try again up here next Saturday (16th) : https://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/dycejuniorsfc/267377/News/view/949747
