Thought Montrose did quite well today without really creating too much. Perhaps Redman in the box near the end was our best opportunity.
Queens rarely a legitimate threat and given we started without a few regulars today this was an enjoyable and encouraging afternoon. McFadden more of a performance than last time you played us; Dykes again caused us a bit of bother when he came on.
That Foxy managed to walk through 60 minutes and they still didn't credibly worry Fleming says it all.

Well we made heavy  weather of that again. Still in the cup but certainly wouldn`t rule out Montrose in the replay. Thought they played well. Well organised and comfortable on the ball. Thought the number 4 for Montrose (Allan?) looked a real prospect.

That said Ross Fergusson  missed an absolute sitter which would have given us an undeserved victory at the death.

We had two absolute gilt edged chances: one at the beginning of the game when Dobbie cut the ball across the box and Lyle of all people didn’t get anything on the ball. Unbelievable miss. The second was at the end when Ferguson ballooned the ball over from Iwelumo distance. Both teams defended well. Queens had more pressure but I don’t grudge Montrose a draw. They tried to win the game, were well organised and defended well.

i thought today was a wasted 340 mile round  trip .  very lucky to escape with a replay .   got to improve queens .

Performance was disappointing, improvement needed no doubt, but we certainly weren't "lucky to get a replay". Like last time Montrose had their moments first half in particular and they pass the ball neatly with a high energy game. They have some good players with Callaghan again standing out. But they never really looked that much like scoring this time and we had the two or three best chances of the game, including the great chance for Fergusson to win it in the last minute.

0-0 was probably fair enough, don't think we did enough to win it. Certainly didn't deserve to lose it. Could have done without an extra midweek game but better that than being out!

On a scale of 1-Chris Iwelumo how bad was this miss ? Doesn't do the young lads confidence any good or his chances of getting more game time.

Closer to Iwelumo than to 1. An absolute sitter.

Really felt for him.

The much maligned Dykes did really well to set him up.

Its a bad miss but he will get over it. He said it bobbled up just as it reached him. There is a pretty good photo of it on the match gallery on the OS.

Most important thing was not to lose - that would have been a big downer for players and supporters alike. Credit to Montrose for another solid performance.

On the positive we kept another clean sheet but another game where we have failed to score. Surprising how many blanks we fire when we have a big threat from set pieces and undoubted quality in the striking roles.

Need to really do a professional positive job in replay. Given our lacklustre attempts to overpower so called poorer opposition in League Cup we must expect another stern test but make sure that we deliver some quality in final third.

Yeah, the pitch looks really bobbly.

Very honest reports from most Queens fans. Not used to that on the L2 forum which is usually stuffed full by moaners and ranters. There's no doubt Montrose were up for it on the day but after last time Queens were as well which for a 0-0 draw made it a decent cup game. I agree Queens had the few best chances and should have scored in both the first and last minutes. In between times not much was created up front by either side though Mo could and should have scored twice had more players got into the box. Problem for both sides looks to be the lack of sharpness up top but both have build solid back lines which is essential. It was who was going to make the telling mistake rather than who was going to create one and neither happened.

Mo could have done without the replay as well with an important game at Stenny next Saturday then another away game the Saturday after. Provided the players get time off work I think Stewart Petrie will again rotate his squad for the replay. He made several changes for the game on Saturday and I think he'll make changes again on Tuesday.

McFadden looked class while he was on the pitch - why substitute him? Is he not a 90 minuter? Dykes made an impact when he came on, so leave him off next time please.

See you all Tuesday - be a change going to Palmy again after a long, long time.
