Utd v League One Favourites Falkirk

Recommended Posts

Almost laughable at points in that second half. Dundee United took off their best player in Flood and didn’t get out of second gear in the second half and still should’ve scored at least another 3. That genuinely could’ve finished 8-0 and it would’ve been fair enough.

I’ve no idea what the game plan was at the start of the game. Miller up top alone with McKee, Longridge and Harris all playing behind him but not one of them were pressing at any point and any time Miller got the ball (well the 2 or 3 times) nobody was close enough to him to do anything. The first sub was just baffling. There was no point at all in Lewis Kidd to be in the squad if he’s not being brought on when a full-back gets inured. Felt for Cameron Blues who’s nowhere near good enough in midfield never mind at full-back and he was completely all over the place. Also Aaron Muirhead does not know how to play left-back his positioning was all over the place and was always far too narrow. Terrible management from Hartley to first implement that change and then just to leave it for the rest of the game even although it clearly wasn’t working.

Our midfield was absolutely nowhere. Willo Flood ran the show in the first half and even when he went off we still couldn’t get close to them. Thought Mark Kerr was ok. He did try but there was never any options for him, Joe McKee of course hid and contributed f**k all until he was subbed off. Surely there can’t be anyone left that actually rates that imposter?

James Craigen came on and he played first as a 10, then went wide left and ended the game playing centre mid. Pish in every position. Alex Harris is just not good enough. Infuriating how often he gets the ball and runs into the middle of the park going absolutely nowhere and of course his final ball was yet again terrible. Louis Longridge was possibly worst of the lot for me he’s just not got any attributes whatsoever. Quite why he’s getting a game ahead of Hippolyte, Loy, Austin, Dunne is a total mystery. Offers nothing.

As pathetically shite as we were Dundee United did play really well at times. Flood, Stanton, King, Fyvie, McDonald and Fraser were all excellent imo. Though there’s no way they’ll play a team quite as bad as that again this season.

Not up against much, but Billy King was outstanding for you I thought.

Not sure if you had any defenders playing or what they were up to...

King looked like a different player today, helped that he had Robson overlapping at every opportunity, which gave him the chance to cut inside or drive into space.

McKee's a good player when things are going well. Just looks very sorry for himself at the moment.

Joe McKee really isn’t good at all at this level. He’s absolutely fucking shite.

Mind earlier on in the season our defence was shite because no one had confidence in Robbie Thomson..... Imagine how Robbie. must have felt the 14th time Billy King destroyed Cameron Blues today.

Felt so sorry for both today.

Cameron Blues was completely hung out to dry being chucked out to right-back and he didn’t have a single clue what he was doing.

Thomson made a few really good saves today one in particular in the first half. He just had absolutely no protection in front of him and didn’t have a chance.

Felt he was our best performer in the LC games, albeit against lower league teams. As I say though, when things are going well he's ok. No room at the moment for someone who can't put in a shift when needed. Sadly that can be said about many more of them!

Hartley really at blame for this one imo. Set us up defensively and the instructions were not to press, we invited Utd onto us. Today really was back to the Houston performances, albeit against what looked a good Utd side.

That first sub was a complete joke, we have a fullback on the bench and he must know Muirhead plays CB yet moves an out of depth midfielder back.

The biggest surprise of this game is that we only scored three, were it not for the chances we squandered and hitting the woodwork as opposed to the inside of the net then it could have been seven or eight.

Can’t remember strolling through and game as easily as we did, total domination.

Surprised no one has mention the Scobie incident, from where we were sitting it looked a definite red card.

The attitude of the players since McKinnon left could not be more different.  Huge commitment and excellent work ethic; that said Ray must be recognised for the players he brought in, its a pity that it’s taken different management to get the most from them.

Guest Back Post Misses
At a loss as to wondering what the fuk is going on but it's apparent that it's more than just players being off form. My best guess is that Hartley's put his foot in it by suggesting that not many of them will be here in January/the summer and that they've given up or are giving us a massive 'up you'.
The likes of Loy, Hippo and McKee look like they couldn't give a feck while others need players around them to be doing the business to be able to make a meaningful contribution themselves. (Austin, Dunne etc.) Would be interesting to hear what's happened to Balatoni & Watson as well. Seems a little odd that both would be injured when there was no indication before. Wouldn't be surprised if there's been a falling out!
One thing's for sure; if we go down we're fucked because our income will be drastically reduced while the overheads will still be there.

Balatoni has been nursing an injury for weeks apparently. FFCTV said Watson was injured too

Thought it was a stick on red card and happened right in front of the ref but he shat it.

Game was already over by that point though and you could’ve played the second half with 8 and still seen it out comfortably enough.

Its called apathy and it is genuinely how the majority of folk feel about the club now. There is no atmosphere or passion about the place. Not one player in that team is inspiring.

The team is meh
The atmosphere at TFS is meh
The management is meh
The Falkirk Stadium is meh
The board are a shower of c***s who have taken the support for granted for years and its all coming home to roost.

Its genuinely hard to be too gutted when you come on here and see the nick some folk get into over our wee team.

Absolutely delicious.

If we only had five fit first team defenders that was probably as good a back four as he could've put out. To not go Kidd-Muirhead-Grant-McGhee when Gallacher picked up an injury is bizarre.

As Bairnardo has said it was even worse to have Muirhead at left-back and McGhee in the middle. It just made absolutely no sense.

When Craigen was coming on I thought we were going to go Muirhead Kerr Grant McGhee which would’ve have been great but at least would’ve made a lot more sense than what actually happened..

What did Scobbie do?

Stuck the head into/pushed Miller to the ground. Pretty similar to Ryan Jack on Kirk Broadfoot.

Happened from one of their corners just a minute or so before half time. He got booked and I think Miller got booked for protesting that it was only a yellow.

Miller got booked for his actions that caused Scobbie to respond, not excusing Scobbie it was s daft thing for him to do.  Miller was lucky not to have been booked earlier, he’s a dirty b*****d.
