sixty61
Council park. Council won’t spend money on it. Dalry Thistle have spent a lot of club money trying to improve the park. The club don’t want games off - does the club no favours.

Don't blame the council , blame the politicians that set the council budgets it's not just dalrys park that needs work done to it ALL the amateur pitches in the valley are in a terrible state and need cash spent on them, got to laugh at Scottish government banging on about unfit children/adults yet they constantly cut council funding which leads to sports pitches being neglected. Now let’s not turn this political but perhaps you should be aware that the UK Government is sovereign and has the ultimate power. The UK government has cut the Scottish budget year on year. The facilities in England are way above anything in Scotland for a reason. ex-german exile
You really think the main priority of government should be football pitches. If the council rent out pitches and don't maintain them then they are doing the community they represent a disservice. As FOTJ predicted this match will probably be swapped to New Cumnock or another venue meaning that Dalry businesses will not gain the financial benefit from a visit of the reigning champions and their not innumerable fan base.So council mess = less tax income and that is important at any level

Main priority of government no,But if you want to get kids out the house playing sports getting fitter then investment is needed as sports facilities in a lot of places just ain't up to standard. fan of the juniors
Wasn’t a dig at Dalry just in cass anyone thinks so. I know how hard Dalry work behind the scenes & to be hamstrung by that pitch is unfair on them . Is there a magic wand ? Probably not but something has to be done as this has been ongoing for years . I know Gavin personally & know how tirelessly he works for Dalry & hope it gets sorted & soon

JuniorMan
Pish our goverment don't give 2 fucks about sport in scotland Intelligent reply from the man that doesn’t attend any facility. Ha ha.You might be correct though as there are far more pressing matters that need taking care of. However it is indeed not pish that Scotland’s budget has been cut which ultimately has a knock on affect with the councils budget and services.
