UEFA teams with free dates during the Nations League have to arrange friendlies so it's not like we're being pro-active here.

On the contrary we're about the last to announce anything for either of our free dates and therefore left our options for both limited to only a few other countries unless we get a non-European team to play us.

We don't *have* to arrange friendlies, and we have a recent history of gleefully avoiding them

Yes we do, part of the rules UEFA agreed on for the Nations League was any team with no fixture on a given matchday due to being in a 3 team league must organise a friendly.

I didn't know that was actually mandated.  If so, good.

Of course, it shouldn't have to be mandated for the SFA to realise that it's actually quite good to be playing games when others are.  I know it's not quite a simple as that, and that organising the wrong friendly can be detrimental, but if you move early enough and with enough intelligence, that doesn't matter.  At least now the useless b*****ds have no choice.

Didn't realise that. Good news (tho as Forameus says its a shame it's taken a rule change for our feckless leadership to actually utilise our dates).

Tierney injured and likely to miss both games

What a surprise.  I wonder if a bookie would take a bet on him being fit for Celtics next game.  You'd think given they will invent another injury that means he misses the summer friendlies they'd let him play this one.

He's going to be Scotland captain and could get our caps record, but Celtic may ruin all that if he stays there too long.

What's the bets he's 'injured' for the two end of season friendlies?  I don't believe he's injured today they just chose to leave him out to lend credence to the fake injury that will keep him out of the two upcoming friendlies.

So to keep him fit for celtic, he's missing a celtic game?

Solid logic there pal
