I assume Strachan has some kind of plan in place to weed out the genetically inferior of our population? Maybe put them in large camps whilst they come up with some kind of final solution as to how to stop their filthy genes soiling the master race that will propel us to future tournaments.

I know Strachan is just rambling nonsense, but his point about 'genetics' just shows a complete misunderstanding of, well, everything. The reason we are 'smaller', is because we produce so few high quality technical players that we aren't in a position to be picky over physically or height, we just have to pick anyone who can actually pass a ball (like Bannan). The way to fix the physicality problem is to improve the 'base level' of ability, have a bigger pool of more technically sound players and then the ones that 'make it' will be the ones that are lucky enough to grow, and possess the required athleticism, speed and physicality, as well as the technique.

It's not chance that we are physical smaller and weaker than other nations, it stems from having a small pool of players meaning we have to pick weaklings like Bannan. People always hold Belgium up as the example. Yes they have exceptional smaller players like Hazard who make it in spite of their size, but the spine of their team is made up of giants like Courtois, Fellaini, Lukaku. That's because their pool of quality players at young age groups is so big that they the are able to select players who possess physical and technical attributes. We can't do that.

That would be typical Strachan, tsk!

one mans negativity is another mans realism strikes me his post had a lot of truth in it rather than the negativity you proclaim, albeit he started it off with swearing. As for being 3rd seeds, if you ever hope to improve and qualify for a major tournament then we need to be looking to improve our seeding rather than matching it. Strachan made a horses ass of 4 matches in that qualifying campaign, and got lucky in a few others, his tactics were all over the place, his selection both team and squad was at times horrendous, and his general demeanour throughout the campaign frankly was of someone who thought he was above the fans opinions and that he knew better. Not unlike most Scottish coaches he has persevered with favourites rather than picking the inform players. Bannan, Mulgrew, Fletcher.D, Fletcher.S, Phillips to name but a few dont deserve a place in the team,, yet alone the squad. It's laughable that Fletcher has 80 caps for Scotland.

Still can't believe I got sucked in to thinking we had a chance. Fucking unreal so it is

Just back from working down south for 10 years and felt the Scots tabloid media  were on a par with the english media histrionics about winning, when it came to tonight's game. Always thought it would be a draw but was still shouting at the telly with 2 minutes to go.

Sorry but you can't blame the Scotland fans after Strachan stayed on for another's campaign despite not qualifying for euros then the start we had.

Not even the idiots singing his name after the Gibraltar game?

The eugenics comment is actually a slap in the puss to the players. Did he not make a similar comment about having limited ability after the last campaign. I find the little runt highly offensive. Thinks he's a smart c**t and we all know what everyone thinks about a smart c**t.

The root of the problem is the SFA. They are the ones who pick the manager and are the responsible for the coaching, management and direction of grass roots football. Without a review or overhaul of the way that we develop young players, from youth to senior, it's the proverbial rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

This is correct, but nothing will change we are a corrupt and knackered nation.

But what can change is Strachan should do the decent thing and walk.

Why change the formation, why play out of form players out of position when there are clearly better choices.

Its reminiscent of Craig Levein, desperate to be proven correct and smarter than everyone. To the detriment of the team.

Were woefully short at centre back, else where we have good players. Not great but good. Good enough to go to Slovenia and actually attempt to play them at football.

Its almost like he over thought it, just get a system the players know and pick the best players.

If he goes and moyes comes in then what's the point, the misery just rolls on and on.

Anya, Fletcher (Steven), Martin (Chris and Russel), mcarther. His players who don't play for their clubs, and if they do don't do well. Chris martin comes accross as a good guy, but really is that enough. He's scored a few goals. But has never looked anything like international quality. And he starts again. Well Gordon, it's cost us and you.

It wasn't a lack of height that cost us, it was an inability to defend back post crosses. A blatant problem that reared it's head throughout the entire campaign but wasn't once resolved.
