left half Posted September 3, 2017 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Took in the Saints v Girvan game. Saints didn't get the mauling I had anticipated and took an early lead with a slick move well finished by Andrew Donley. The gap in levels played at was too obvious but Saints being a relatively young team, they were naïve and easily intimidated and out fought by a more experienced Girvan team. Howlers by both goalie leading to goals, missed chances by Saints ,several bookings, a sending off and a few off the ball incidents missed by the ref who had a reasonable game, so a typical Scottish cup tie. After the sending off, Saints seemed hungrier and more passionate with hard shifts being put in by the team. Worth the gate money. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thought it might have been more comprehensive for Girvan mind you.Bad result for Threave only managing a draw against an Amateur side. Might sneak a win being at home in the replay.
