Possibly a very influential day afoot LL... Dalbeattie beat Hawick 3-0 to close within 1pt of Vale and leave Hawick trailing by 13pts (and far worse GD) with only 8 games left. Vital win for Gala maintained their cushion, but given games-in-hand anyone upto Whitehill could be forgiven for looking over their shoulders nervously:

10   Whitehill   P22   W9 D1 L12   28pts
11   Edusport    P25   W7 D5 L13   26pts,  -6

12   Edin Univ   P25   W7 D5 L13   26pts,  -9

13   Gala        P25   W7 D5 L13   26pts, -18

14   Vale of L   P22   W6 D1 L15   19pts

=============================================

15   Dalbeatt.   P22   W4 D6 L12   18pts
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

16   Hawick      P22   W1 D2 L19    5pts

LTHV won 3-1 at Leith to continue reeling-in Kelty atop EOSL:

 1   Kelty       P18  W18 D0 L0   54pts

---------------------------------------

 2   Leith       P19  W14 D2 L3   44pts

 3   LTHV        P14  W14 D0 L0   42pts

 4   Preston     P18  W12 D2 L4   38pts

 5   H-W Univ    P21  W10 D6 L5   36pts

SOSL remains a huge 6-way battle:

 1   St Cuthb.   P22  W13 D3 L6   42pts
-------------------------------------------
 2   Mid Ann’e   P18  W13 D2 L3   41pts

 3   Threave     P16  W13 D0 L3   39pts

 4   Lochar      P16  W12 D2 L2   38pts

 5   Bonnyton    P20  W11 D3 L6   36pts
 6   Heston      P19  W12 D0 L7   36pts, +2

According to the twitter feed of the stand company it holds 120 (thus 20 over licensing minimum).

Planning permissions diagrams indicate that LTHV eventually intend to install 2 of this design either side of the main spectator gate (which is on the extreme right of the photo).

Dalbeattie opened the season with 2 wins in August, added another in November, then none for 4 months before landing 2 in only 5 days. Football can be a funny old game - and they move ahead of Vale of Leithen into 14th and close to within 5pts of Gala, Edinburgh Uni & Edusport and 7pts of Whitehill with 2 games-in-hands.

Weirdly enough I noticed earlier they & Whitehill's previous meeting at Islecroft was precisely 365 days ago. Freaky.

Threave Rovers beat Lochar Thistle 2-1 aet in Potts Cup SF. LTHV's EOS Qualifying Cup SF was postponed.

364 days Hibbee ... we went there and March 15th last season. Also strangely on Match 15th 2016 we were at Threave.

Witnessed all 3 defeats ... :(

  • 2 weeks later...

Vale were also pegged-back fairly late by Gretna.

Hawick cannot now reach 14th... their only hope is Cove don't win promotion AND no licensed club win EOSL or SOSL or overtake Vale AND hope Cove don't win promotion:

LTHV slammed the door on ideas of dropped points to keepup 100% record and close on Kelty:

Threave won at Lochar. Increasingly looks Threave/Mids race:

Cool the jets Newky, Gary's got the lads moving in the right direction. An up and doon season for us with so many youngsters but loads of injured players to come back.

Looking at the run in my jets are well and truly misfiring then,  a bit like the team the now.

Struggling to  see where oor next point coming from :unsure2:

(Tue) Edinburgh Uni 0-0 BSCG

LTHV 5-0 Tweedmouth

(Tue) Upper Annandale 0-3 Lochar
Nithsdale 1-7 Mid Annandale

Stranraer SOS 0-2 Threave

Hawick Royal Albert are RELEGATED and the curtain falls on their 2-year spell in tier 5 of Scottish football... unless the Highland League champion fail to win promotion and neither the EOSL nor SOSL champion are licensed, in which case they'd be reprieved. It's a huge fight above them to avoid 2nd bottom, all the way from 10th down with Edusport (30pts), Edinburgh University (30pts), Whitehill (28pts but 3 games-in-hand), Gala (27pts), Dalbeattie (25pts but 2 games-in-hand) and Vale of Leithen (23pts but 2 games-in-hand). Really impossible to call at the moment:

LTHV coasted to a comfortable win over Tweedmouth via a triplet of late goals: their big test is next week, when they host Burntisland on Easter Monday and then Tynecastle on Wednesday, when they will look to further close the gap which is currently 9pts with 3 games-in-hand:

SOSL looks evermore like a Threave v Mids shootout but others are poised should the leaders falter:
