Sharky
Newton bounced back from the disappointing midweek result. Lochar seemed very average. Newton were on the front foot from the start and if Middleton had his shooting boots on the score could have been a lot more

Stu
Almost as well timed a thread as last season's Wigtown invincibles one
AML67
Some of you guys are doing Lochar a disservice ! They're clearly a good side based on today's showing and what they've achieved so far - simply out gunned today at Blairmount - a result that keeps the SSFL alive even this early
info
Quite correct. Good to see teams in the South League are on the whole, able to take points off each other. Genuine football fans do not want to see a walkover. See Newton Stewart has been fined £5000 by the SFA beaks for getting their ground in order. You couldn't make it up!!! If licencing was held up due to lack of money surely financial penalties are not the answer?
evh78
Look obvious to me that Bonnyton will eventually win the league after other teams that don't want to take their foot off the gas later on in the season. Feel free to disagree but bookmark this for the end of the season.

Equally, they were the only members to miss deadline, IIRC - but nevertheless allowed to continue automatically entering Scottish Cup.

With no financial reward though. And a subsequent fine it seems. As far as I'm aware, due to the timescales of the season and the early Scottish Cup. The Sfa couldn't bring the case early enough, so Newton were still eligible to participate.
HibeeJibee
Fair enough. In terms of this season they were included in the draw as a licenced club and website says got their licence on 30th June, so is this fine historical or was 30th June late? They had their license in time for this Seasons draw. Fine is for not having it in place for 16/17 season.
info
Still, begs the question what is the sense in fining a club when the reason for non-compliance in the first place is financial?
Bigstuff
Be interesting to see what happens if they win the league oops

ICEMAN
If that's the size of fine Newton got for trying to improve their ground what size o fine are they going to or have already hit Wigtown with ?
WindUp
On today's form uppers will take points from anyone on their day. Lochar not at the races
ecclesbrother
You are definately on the wind up... if it wasn't for uppers defence lochar would've pumped them.
evh78
Wasn't the best of games yesterday at Lochar. Very scrappy and stop start. Thought the ref was very poor also, wasn't content to let the game flow and there were a number on unnecessary bookings.
ecclesbrother
That is true ref didn't help either team but as a neutral I thought lochar were the better team. They just struggled to break down uppers defence with big gilly stealing a show .. played well the big guy.
evh78
Oh yeah, as a neutral as well I totally agree Lochar were the better team and without the experience of the big player manager in the Uppers defence the score would have been much different I'm sure! Aguerooooo
Lochar have finally cracked after a good start. Free fall from now on I would say. Might keep the crackpots that bum them up quiet for a spell.
