HibeeJibee
Sir John Maxwell took up the baton in 1882-83 and drew 1-1 with Woodlands before winning the replay 5-3. In R2 he beat Port Glasgow Athletic 5-3 but they protested (why?) and the replay went against him 2-6, so something funny was going on. (Incidentally that season in R3 the Arthurlie v Thornliebank tie was ordered replayed as "the ball was more oval than round" ) Following season he went down 5-3 at Greenock Northern.

HibeeJibee
According to the Glasgow Herald he won by "5 goals and 3 disputed goals to 3 goals". Then further down the column it's given again as "draw 3 goals each". Either way a sterling effort from the chap.
