According to STV, the £365,000 that each Premier league club would get, can only be spent on youth development.

That's too bad, Hearts could have bought the seats for their new stand with this "windfall".

Last season Aberdeen had a fantastic squad and manager, developed over several years, with terrific balance, few weak links and a deadly attacking lineup. We won f**k all because Celtic had a squad full of internationalists and a world class manager who finished second in the EPL once.

To say that it comes down to XI v XI on the pitch is wilful ignorance in the extreme. We could not sign Rogers, Griffiths, Dembele, Rogic, Armstrong, Brown. We could not keep hold of Forrest, Teirney, McGregor. This is primarily down to money.

Our relative success on the park has brought in some level of additional funds (second place prize money, cup final cash, European trips, selling Jonny Hayes), but relative to third place, this is a small increase, giving us a small advantage going into the new season. The cash that Celtic get from the Champions League is on another level, meaning they can go get more internationalists, a better manager, and beat us all again.

This is only just beginning IMO. The next three or four seasons will see Celtic continue to strengthen their grip on the top of the table, and after ten in a row, there'll be some degree of soul searching it'll be eleven.

Teams like Aberdeen have a great history in European football and it's time they started showing that again.

So do Celtic.

Being able to stick it to your erstwhile rivals is the major benefit of the UEFA windfall, domestic bragging rights rather than any belief or hope that it might catapult the club into European contention because, of course, it will not.

Moreover, it is likely also true that Celtic would be better served by relegation into the EL rather than making it to the UCL last 16 because get to the last 16 of the UCL it ends there. Maybe in the lesser competition you could get a quarter final if the draw as kind.

European also-rans is now your place and being the head honcho in our backwater league is as good as it’s going to get any time soon.

The point is that when the bigotted hatefest against your zombie twin sister loses any interest value, Celtic fans will find other things to do on a Saturday afternoon. Like sectarian violence in the streets.

Congratulations but none of that is relevant to the fact that your club charges their fans £20 more than usual when they play Rangers.

With 52,000 season ticket holders you will find that it is the the rangers fans that pay £20 more

So, what's a mock chop?

All the leftover bits of red pudding, cigarette butts and other sweepings from the chippy doorway are made up into a sort of chop shaped patty, covered in batter then get the f**k deep fried out of them.
