Squad for Lithuania and Malta

Recommended Posts

The next game is just over 4 weeks away, so we're probably only a fortnight or so away from the next squad announcement.

Sensible money would be a repeat of the last squad, but there are a few potential wildcards who might be included. Celtic's McGregor? Burke or no Burke? McTominay just in case he's not sh*te? Lindsay and/or Souttar? Archer or Zander Clarke to be Gordon's understudy?

Strachan has plenty to pick from for these 2 games, I expect 6 points to be achieved with the players at our disposal. Apart from the celtic players nobody I mean nobody from the rest of the SPL should be anywhere near the squad the cannon fodder that the Scottish clubs have lost too in Europe is enough evidence

The main issue as always will be lack of game time for the English based players in the squad . You will probably be able to add Andy Robertson to that list

I suppose you don't want us picking lower EPL/Champsionship players either because they don't play in Europe?

Good job you're not the manager - Murray & Boyle?! No Scott Brown? Gauld & Donald Love are miles away as well.

Mulgrew & Berra will still be in there, as will Naismith & Chris Martin. Would like to see Cummings in the squad - he's not good enough to play yet, but we're really struggling for strikers.

No real need to change the team from the England game. For what it's worth Charlie Mulgrew is a far better Centre Half than Hanley. I look forward to Gauld developing into a Scotland player and I reckon he should be in the squad. Just for the experience though.

Barry Douglas is well worthy of a call up IMO after a fine start to his season, especially as it doesn't look like Robertson will be getting first team football anytime soon.
