St Mirren v Falkirk SPFL Championship 5/8/17

Recommended Posts

FT 3-1

Woof, there you go. Excellent second half performance and a well deserved win. Falkirk completely vanished after a very dominant first 25 minutes.

Our second goal was a howler by the Falkirk keeper. Nothing cross and he's flapped it straight to Cammy Smith's feet for a tap in. Our third was an excellent goal on the left foot by Reilly, who played superbly.

Also credit to Samson. He was at fault for the first goal but made two or three great saves at key moments when we were 1 down and when 2-1 up.

Thought Jack Ross got his tactics spot on today too. Was a big shout to go with 2 upfront but it worked, and switching Morgan and Smith early on created havoc with some dodgy Falkirk full backs.

Going to win the league...?

All started with the switching of Morgan and Smith. The Falkirk left back couldn't handle Morgan just knocking the ball past him and chasing it.

Sutton played well and linked up play.

First home opening win since 2006...

Houston needs to take the blame for that one. Looked like we failed to anticipate that St Mirren might be well up for this one and wilted after starting well. He also failed to do ANYTHING to get control of the middle of the park. Taiwo for Kerr at half time for me. Aside from the cliched "they wanted it more than us" which is true, Saints held the ball better and used the ball better than us.

Total heads gone from the team at the end really. No clue at all
Muirheads sending off looked really soft but even if it was, Stelios rolling about was embarrassing. Suspect the game was gone then anyway, but Austin off to but Luca at RB??? What the f**k?

Lastly, and I should just have a template for this comment, special mention to the officials who showed the now stamdard level of cluelessness we have come to expect.

Gallagher being shite? Well that's surprising.

We were really poor for the last hour.
I would have started with Taiwo over Kerr. Hope Loy is back quickly.
We need to buy 2 good full backs too. Muirhead is not a right back and Gallagher has great potential but will struggle to play each week.
A really bad start but onwards and upwards to our first home game.
COYB.

You's can have Stelious for £2,500,000.....
